#SpiritualSundays: We All Are Created In His Image…

Not too many will take out the time and read this; for those that will thank you. Thank you for not just scrolling by; because the title may not move you.

How many know that titles don’t really give you the full picture? Titles set you up for what’s to come. It’s going to give you something to think about and have you curious to what’s next.

In this world of social media many are only seeking for amusement, entertainment, cheap temporary pleasure, new dance challenges; etc.

What happened to seeking out those things that will change your life or the lives of those around you? What happened to being a change agent? Finding out truth to share with others; making a difference in someone else’s life? This world and many of those in it; have become selfish and only seeking personal gain; personal satisfaction!

While the title says: We are all created in His image; many have strayed away. They don’t embody what it means to be friendly, neighborly, loving, caring, compassionate, understanding, etc.

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

While they possess human form their speech, thoughts, actions and reactions mimic those of pure evil.

“But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess.” Deuteronomy 30:17-18

Many don’t worry about what takes place in the world today because it hasn’t affected them. It hasn’t come knocking at their door. Why should they care what happens to others; they are just out here living their best life.

Speaking up about what is plaguing this world and the lives of many; takes heart, courage and unselfishness!

Jesus came to the world for everyone; not just a certain group of people. He came so that everyone can have a better; more fulfilling life. He didn’t come so that some can bamboozle their way through life and make it harder for others to have access to resources to live their lives.

Today in church my Pastor said something that I will repeat: “We have to look in the mirror”, when was the last time you looked in the mirror? Do you like the person you see? Are you a change agent? Do you advocate for others? Are you an unselfish person? Do you believe we all should be able to live a life of abundance? Do you believe we are all created in His image?

From The Desk of a Single Mom: Hello Somebody; Where Is Your Yes?

For so many years society and the people within; have told us and taught us that it’s time to say NO.

And for most circumstances that still applies; but, what happens when God needs you to say YES?

Now, being a single mom I’ve had my share of taking great joy in exercising my right to say NO; loud and boldly. Especially when situations don’t look like it’s going to be good for me and my kids.

When some no-good dude wants to roll up and think he going to get over on me; nope! He can be smooth as silk with his no good intentions but when you’ve been played before; you cut them short; NO and go on about your business….

Or, when a potential employer calls you after reviewing your resume and tries to offer you less than you’re worth; NO. Why do they do that? They clearly see your experience and education but still offer you less than; “excuse me I don’t want to appear rude but, NO thank you!”

And they get upset like you got a problem….Well you kinda do because you know you’re worth! Why do them the favor of taking their low paying job and “you” have to find other ways to make ends meet?

What about when you’re trying to flex your entrepreneurial muscles and start getting the word out; you get all kinds of people interested in your services. But, guess what? They don’t want to pay for nothing! Who does that? Volunteer and Entrepreneur are no where the same! Their meanings are entirely different! So you know what; NO.

Just like we have the ability to say NO; so does God. I’m sure some of you know that; right? You want something or someone so bad and you pray about it and God says NO.. Hurt your feelings right? Lol I know I’ve been there; many times and each time it hurt. Like when can I get a Yes Heavenly Father? I know you want the best for me but when can I see it up close and personal?

I thought I had an absolute yes just a little while ago; things start looking up. I got a job with this company started as a temp it wasn’t perfect but I was able to deal with it. I began to make plans along with my kids to start looking for a house; we had grown tired of apartment living (it was definitely time for an upgrade).

There were talks of the company I was working for to bring me on permanent but they were dragging their feet; so I really didn’t have that as a factor while looking for a place to call home.

Some people do that; they choose a place to live depending on where their working. Many jobs aren’t that loyal anymore and I wasn’t going to make a long term decision not fully knowing if they would even bring me on permanent and keep me!

So long story short they eventually brought me on and we ended up finding a house really far from where I worked. Lol like my commute depending on traffic was 1.5-2 hours; each way! At first it didn’t bother me I enjoyed the time to get to pray and talk to God and just clear my head. But after a month or so I knew I had to figure something out and I prayed….

July 2018 God answered!

What if God answered your prayer(s) but you didn’t have the whole picture of how it was to go down? You weren’t given a play by play? All you got was your part that you had to play; would you say YES?

I said Yes! I gave my 2 weeks notice without another job anywhere in sight! I flexed my FAITH muscles; was it easy? No! But, I had to trust and believe that God would show up and show out!

And guess what God made a way! Often times God wants to know if YOU will trust and believe in HIM. When things are going good we sometimes forget WHO makes a way for us to have everything that we have.

Soon as the times get rough we get all afraid and pointing fingers. I had to pray my way through so I didn’t fall into that trap; the enemy is always close by to see how he can get you hemmed up.

November 2018: God Showed Out…

And while I was praying for a temporary job that I had interviewed for would come through; God sent a full-time permanent job my way that I believed was one of the worst and strangest interviews I have ever had!

When you give God control and give HIM your YES…..#speechless

Will you tell Him yes?

#SpiritualSundays: It’s Time To Find Your Voice..Like Right Now!

Do you know how many times the word voice appears in the Bible? In the amplified version; it appears 397 times!

I will be pointing out some of the scripture that pertains to voice throughout this post.

“Through your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have heard and obeyed My voice.” Genesis 22:18 AMP

“But Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.” Exodus 5:2 AMP

“God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Do not be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy from where he is [resting]”. Genesis 21:17 AMP

“Then the Lord spoke to you from the midst of the fire; you heard the sound of the words, but you saw no form—there was only a voice”. Deuteronomy 4:12 AMP

How do you use your voice?

Do you inspire?

Do you motivate?

Do you encourage?

Do you empower?

Or do you ridicule?

Do you tear others down?

Do you spread hate or lies?

Do you gossip?

It’s time to use your voice but for good and not evil….

Social media has given everyone the opportunity to be seen and heard. Some people use it for good and others not so good. The one thing that I like about social media is that those that choose to use their voice to spread love; have the ability too! You never know who will stumble across your message and it’s something that they need to hear! The power to change lives just by speaking!

Now isn’t that powerful! There is power in your voice; use it wisely….

#SpiritualSundays: Your Steps Are Ordered…..

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps”. Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)

You know I didn’t have anything planned to write about today; and then I read this scripture! Wow, isn’t that amazing? I know I was amazed!

Does it make you wonder how it would apply to other things as well? You are getting ready to go hang out with friends and all of a sudden; they call and cancel on you. You got this amazing interview lined up; for what you think, is the perfect job and they send you a letter the day before saying: we have decided to go with someone more qualified!

How would that make you feel? Either situation at face value may suck and put you in a funk; but, look at it differently. Read that scripture again but this time more slowly and meditate on its every word. “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps”. Proverbs 16:9

You were almost ready; on your way out the door but God had something else in mind for you! You called all your friends and family and told them about this interview, the company and all the money you would be making; but God has other plans for you!

Better is coming! The things that we hope and pray for can be our best in our minds but God can always go Higher, Bigger; and Better.

How do you feel when these type of situations take place? Do you talk about your friend to someone else? “Girl, I can’t believe she did me like that; I was all ready on my way out the door!” Dude, that man was talking about this party all week and all of a sudden; he gonna call and cancel on me? I wasn’t dressed yet but I was about to be!”

Sound familiar? After reading and meditating on that scripture; do you feel any different? Will you think differently next time? I will assure you there will be a next time! Learn the lesson now and change your reaction to it!

Have you ever heard that saying “you learn something new everyday?” Well I’m here to tell you that is a true saying!

What I learned yesterday; but didn’t catch it until this morning! Is that God is always blessing us! It may not look or feel like a blessing at that moment but as you take the time and internalize it and think on it; you will catch the revelation.

We don’t know what God was blocking when he cancels out our plans. He could be saving our lives! Saving us from some type of hurt or pain! When you look at it this way; you change your thinking, your mindset, the outcome and your reaction to the situation and just thank him!

Thank you Lord for stepping in all those situations that we think are good but you see it as bad! Thank you for that phone call or letter that may seem like a negative but you turned it into a positive!

When Your Frustration Kicks In: #SpiritualSundays

When Your Frustration Kicks In: #SpiritualSundays

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” John 16:33 (NLT)

How many of us will raise our hands and admit we sometimes get frustrated? Yes, we have faith and yes; we believe in God. But, we also get frustrated! Frustration is a part of life; none of us are perfect and we will all experience this at some point in our lives.

We get frustrated when things don’t go our way! We get frustrated when God doesn’t move when we want him to move! We get frustrated when the people in our lives just can’t and won’t do right!

Women get frustrated when they continually get passed over and must wait for a relationship to come their way. Men get frustrated when they can’t find the right woman. Employees get frustrated that they can’t get the promotion they deserve; unemployed people get frustrated when they can’t find a job; or the right job. Entrepreneurs get frustrated when they don’t make any sales or get any new clients.

Students get frustrated when they don’t have the right teachers in their schools. Teachers get frustrated when they feel neglected and underpaid. Parents get frustrated when their kids won’t listen to their wisdom, knowledge and reasoning. Kids get frustrated when parents won’t allow them to have a voice. Husbands get frustrated when their wives won’t submit; wives get frustrated when their husbands won’t listen or communicate with them.

“Extortion turns a wise person into a fool, and a bribe corrupts the heart. The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools”. Ecclesiastes 7:7-9 (NIV)

Frustration can easily turn into anger; we don’t want to get to that point. When we allow our emotions to take over; then it can easily turn into a negative situation. Anyone of these scenarios can take the wrong turn and that’s what we need to avoid.

As Christians, we want to take this and spin it into a learning curve or a give it a positive outcome. As humans that can sometimes be a hard thing for some of us to do; but, we must find ways to not let our emotions get the best of us.

Check out this article written by Pastor Rick Warren: http://pastorrick.com/devotional/english/five-steps-for-handling-frustration

What Can You Do When Your Frustration Kicks In?

  1. Take a step back and look at the situation from the outside. What do you see?
  2. Are you allowing your emotions to control you? Do you have a valid reason to be frustrated?
  3. Ask God to step in and fix your heart and your thoughts; allow him to give and show you a different perspective.
  4. Prayer! Everyone one always says this; for every situation! Why? Because it works….
  5. Write it down; why are you frustrated? Writing always helps me; who would of thought that writing can be soothing to your soul.

#SpiritualSundays: 6 Steps to Enlarge Your Borders. Written by Tarsha L. Campbell

Are you yearning to take your life to a whole new level? Do you aspire to reach beyond your current boundaries and enlarge your territory? If you answered “yes” to these two questions than this article is for you! Below are six steps I personally employed in my own life to enlarge my borders and step into the divine spaces prepared for me. Let’s check them out:

  1. Desire More

To desire means to long for. So many people lack desire. They have resolved to settle for the status quo. You must realize in order to have more, you have to reach for more. This means stepping out of your comfort zone and going beyond what you are accustom to. (Matthew 7:7-8)

  1. Envision More

You have to see beyond what’s around you to enlarge your borders. Having vision is important when stretching forth into new territory. Vision is the vehicle that propels you to new dimensions.
Vision involves seeing the new territory before you even leave the station. (Proverbs 29:18)

  1. Seek God For Strategies

When desiring to stretch out into larger territory the first place to start is in prayer. Seeking God for strategies to enlarge your borders is essential to your success. In doing so, you ensure you are moving forth in the right direction.  A strategy is a plan of action, a game plan designed to achieve a goal. Without a plan of action you are planning to fail. (John 2:1-5)

  1. Execute the Plan

Execute means to carry out the plan, to work. This is where most people drop the ball. To enlarge your borders it takes action on your part. When God gives you strategies it’s up to you to work them and see them through to completion. (James 2:17-18)

  1. Avoid “Border Control

In your quest to enlarge your borders you have to avoid people that try to place limits on your growth. It is important to establish divine connections. Be lead by the Spirit to connect with people who are going your way and cut loose from those who try to control your advancement and progress. (Matthew 18:18-20)

  1. Praise God For New Ground

This final step is an act of faith. Even before you reach the new territory you need to acknowledge the one from whom all blessings flow. It is through God’s grace you will accomplish your goal. In praising Him you release His unlimited favor on your behalf! (Psalm 107:7-9)

(Scripture references from King James Version)

#SpiritualSundays….When it Snows on your Bloom: Guest Blogger Angie Bee

“When It Snows on your Bloom”

As I write this article, it is snowing in North and Central Florida.  Yes, I know that Northerners are currently snowed in and schools are closed; I realize that you are under FEET of snow and we only have flurries, but please be patient with me as I acknowledge that 50 degrees in Florida is a challenge for us.  Some of us only own socks to wear with our flip-flop shoes and others don’t own a pair a gloves, as they try to pump the gas in their car.  It is cold in Daytona Beach this morning, and you should have seen my hubby bundled up as he left for work this morning.  #BabyItsColdOutside

23517635_10211107214696064_8703003550597978302_n

This picture that I snapped was actually taken in Akron Ohio in November 2017. We traveled to my husband’s home town in order to attend a 60th birthday party for a life-long friend. It was Akron’s first snowfall of the season, and we were there to witness it!  As our flight was landing, the passengers oo’ed and ahh’ed as they peeped out the window to see the snowfall, and I beamed at my husband with joy in my heart!  “Honey, look at the snow!”  Of course, it was fascinating to look at it as the airplane was landing, but once that cold hit us… oooh weee!  The birthday party attendees arrived wearing their tuxedos and formal gowns, and they were all bundled up in furs and warm capes.

Sometimes it snows on your bloom.  The birthday party went on as scheduled, of course because the local attendees were accustomed to the cold and they could dress appropriately for it.  Bartee and I struggled through the cold to attend the party, even though our outerwear was not at all suitable for that cold weather!  Sometimes, it will snow on your bloom and you still have to press on… just like my husband bundled up this morning to head to work.  Sometimes, you have to press on through the challenge, in spite of the snow, in spite of the heat, in spite of the circumstance.  Don’t let the snow block you from the sunshine as the sun will soon shine a blessing upon you!

The bible teaches us in Romans 5: 3-4:

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

https://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/passage/?q=romans+5:3-5

That flower in this picture just BEAMED with hope!  It still had hope that the sun was going to shine on it’s petals, in spite of being covered with snow.  That flower still has hope that a bumble bee will buzz on by and pollinate it after the winter ends.  THAT flower still had hope that it’s seeds would one day take root and create more flowers!

As this new year launches and we look forward to receiving more blessings, let us begin to appreciate the snowfalls that are behind us.  Those snowfalls made us stronger!  That challenge may have been expected, like when the seasons change, or it may not have been expected, but it certainly helped us grow and learn.  That divorce is behind you now, and your life is different and that is ok!  That death that you experienced was traumatic for the survivors in your family, but now you can reflect on the deceased and laugh at the memories.  Bundle up, get prepared and enjoy the snowfall when it falls on your bloom because after the snow clears… your foundation will be moist and revived and the sun will shine on your life!

Come share your testimony of encouragement over adversity on our new show, streamed live on www.Facebook.com/AngieBEEandBarteeProductions  The name of the show is “Getting Over the Hump with Angie BEE & Bartee” where my husband and I will feature music, laughs and stories of encouragement and love  Your story may encourage someone else as they are facing their own snow storm!  Join us Wednesday’s from 7:00 – 7:30pm EST and let get over the hump… together!

BEE Blessed
