From The Desk of a Single Mom: Salute to Single Moms

“There is no greater warrior than a mother protecting her child.” N.K. Jemisin

While being a parent; many of us women don’t have the luxury of having a partner to go through the motions with! Many of us are doing it alone and many of us are rocking it!

And we don’t get our kudos or the pat on the back; because there are those that will say; it’s our responsibility to raise our kids! But, is it for us to do it alone?

We live in a society where men are allowed to get a pass for just about anything! They cheat on their wives; pass….They abandon their children and their responsibility! Pass….makes no sense to me; but oh well….

But in the same breathe those same people are quick to say that women can’t teach a young boy/man; how to be a man! Well I beg to differ! Why? It’s simple; we have no choice!

People are quick to have an opinion but never a solution! Will you mentor a young boy/man? Will you give of your time to reach/teach a young boy/man the right path to take in life? Will you take them to a baseball or basketball game? Many won’t and that’s why there is a shortage of mentors for young boys…ask me how I know?

And while there is a shortage; single moms are the ones that have to step into a role that was never designed for us..but we do it and many times; do it well….

1. It doesn’t take a man to tell a young boy/man to pull his pants up!

2. It doesn’t take a man to tell a young boy/man to respect himself and others!

3. It doesn’t take a man to tell a young boy/man to open the doors for young girls/ladies!

4. It doesn’t take a man to show a young boy/man how to cook, clean and wash his own clothes!

5. It doesn’t take a man to show a young boy/man to learn how to drive!

6. It doesn’t take a man to show a young boy/man to protect himself and those that he loves!

7. It doesn’t take a man to show a young boy/man to go buy groceries!

And, as I learned from a dear friend; who also happens to be a single mom:

8. It doesn’t take a man to show a young boy/man how to change a tire!

This is just a small list of things that single moms have to step up and teach their boys!

We as a society need to do a better job at thinking before we speak. So many people are quick to judge without putting themselves in other’s shoes. We are quick to look at another’s trials and tribulations and point fingers and assume! But, what if it was you?

There is so much that the people on the outside don’t know because they don’t allow themselves to care. They don’t know that you have to take a stand for yourself and your kids. They don’t know that when terror comes to your door you have to be the one to chase it away; men were designed to be the protector!

So, if you’re a single mom and you’re reading this; You Aren’t Alone! If you’re not a single mom but know someone that is; then let her know that she is doing a great job! Offer her some help from time to time.

Excerpt from my book……Single Mom You Aren’t Alone: Becoming a Single Woman of Purpose

“You are a giver by nature; because you have to give your all; it’s in your DNA…

You are worthy of your children’s love; they love you no matter what.

No Matter What, Never Give In to Negative Talk. Being positive in any situation is Key.

Step Out on Faith and watch the possibilities pour into your life.

All the things you think you can’t do as a single mom; are already done!

In Jesus Name, Amen.” Tamara McCarthy

It’s Father’s Day: Spiritual Sundays- Evangelist Angie Bee

My daddy still lives with me here on this earth.  I give God praise for this!  I have three friends that lost their fathers in 2018 and I still have them in my prayers as they adjust to this change in their lives.

angie bee_2

My daddy lives in Michigan and I live in Florida.  Once a year he packs his wife in the car and makes the drive to my state in order to vacation in his timeshare for a week.  In the beginning of his vacation years 20 years ago, he would spend a week in Florida and I would just LOOSE MY MIND by his presence!  I would bust up on their vacation and just be a talkative, obnoxious child, sitting at my daddy’s feet.  I would even bring my kids to invade their privacy! Hmmph!  The nerve of me!!!

Over the years, they would extend their vacation from one week to two weeks, spending the second week on a cruise.   Some times, they would bring my infant nephew and he would cruise with them.  It was during those times that I would fully embrace Exodus 20:17 which said –   “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”  My parent’s didn’t know it then, but during some of those early visits, my kid’s and I were homeless.  We bounced around to live in hotel rooms, trying to save up enough for security deposits for the next apartment.  I would get our groceries from the food bank and do all that I could to help my then-husband find and keep a job.  That annual visit to their timeshare was a break from hell for us, and it was a precious time for us too, but when they would leave to go on their cruise… oh my… #TakeMeWithYou #ThouShallNotCovet.  Thank you for that lesson, Lord.

In 2011 my Heavenly Father ordained me to launch a ministry featuring Holy Hip Hop concerts, testimonial workshops, book signings and a prophetic preached word.  The TOUR that Angie BEE Presents may bear my name, but it gives God all the glory He deserves.  God loves a party and on our anniversary this summer… I plan to party!  I plan to “dance like David danced” and rejoice out loud because Our Father continues to send us out to represent HIM!  I plan to celebrate because God has allowed this ministry to grow!  TOUR members have married, given birth, written books, survived losses, bought houses, become entrepreneurs and launched ministries!  THANK YOU GOD!  Thank you God!

This year, I will spend Father’s Day in Michigan with my Father!  I rejoice over that timing!  This is the first time in DECADES that I have been present in the same state with my daddy, in order to celebrate HIM on this day!  I encourage each of you to celebrate your earthly fathers, whether present with you are residing elsewhere.  I encourage you to celebrate the blessings you have received from your heavenly father!  Begin making a daily list of your blessings and post them on social media or in your journal.  Thank God for waking you up on time for work and thank him for covering you as you ended your day with rest.  Thank you father for his dedication in your life or thank him for returning to your life after an absence.  Thank God for the little things and thank your earthly father for helping to make you the person that you are.  I thank my daddy for my lovely looks (I look like my handsome daddy) and thank God for your life, health and strength.  Practice thanking your earthly daddy and watch how that gratitude can translate to praise for your heavenly father!  Don’t just wait until Sunday morning to give God praise and don’t wait until Father’s Day to thank your earthly father.  Celebrate every day!  Celebrate every hour of the day and rejoice in the day for this is the day the Lord has made!

From the Desk of a Single Mom: Our Very 1st Home….Thank You Jesus!!

Can I brag on My God! God did it! We sometimes want to take credit for the things that happen in our lives! But, I can’t and won’t do that today! Some of us just won’t give credit where it is due! I won’t be one of them!

On 5.11.18 my children and myself were able to secure our very 1st home! That’s a big blessing; one that we can’t take any credit for! So many of us fail to realize that we don’t have total and complete control of what takes place in our lives! Yes, we can get a job and make a bunch of money (some of us) and we can buy all the nice shiny sparkling things; that people will ooh and ahh over but none of that makes any difference if you don’t have God in your life!

Buying a house isn’t a fun and easy process! If you got cold hard cash; then maybe you won’t get the headache! But, when you have to deal with sellers, mortgage companies, banks; etc those headaches are numerous! Your credit score has to be on point! Your bank account has to be at a certain level because you have fees on top of fees you will have to pay out. Did I forget to mention that I didn’t go through one of those 1st time home buyers class? I skipped all over that step; lol! I dove in head first and had no idea what I was getting myself into!

My parents where home buyers before but I was a child when that process took place for the first time; when my dad brought another house years later; he made it seem so easy I didn’t even ask about all the mishaps that could take place. I didn’t tell too many people I was looking to buy because:

  1. I didn’t want to hear any horror stories!
  2.  or do you think your ready?
  3. or really; you think you can handle that?
  4. I don’t know if the market is good for that.
  5. or people counting my coins!
  6. and I didn’t want anyone telling me what God couldn’t do!

I don’t know about you but as a Single Mom; people always feel like you don’t have it all together and need their two cents! Now, don’t get me wrong I love some good sound advice but don’t treat me like I haven’t been raising my kids all this time by myself! I know what I can and can’t handle! And I got a pretty good head on my shoulders and a big decision like this I checked with my Heavenly Father first! He knows what the forecast is before any of us even open our eyes!

You see, when we moved into our last apartment 06.08.17 I wrote a note and put it on my prayer wall! It basically was me saying this had to be it with this apartment living! I was done with it! I was tired, my kids were tired and we wanted better for our lives! We grew tired of all the rules that these apartment communities enforced! They basically had the keys to come and go as they pleased while you were paying the rent! Every time we turned around they were having inspections for this and for that; people all up in your living space. You could park here; but you can’t park there! You can have these many guests over and they have to leave at this time! They charged you for everything; gym key, washer and dryer, updated appliances; jeez really! I was putting out so much money and I knew there had to be a better way.

I would often dream about the day when we could have our own; I prayed for it, I put it on my vision boards; until the last vision board that I did, I just felt it was already done! No need to look for and paste these pictures of houses and what they would have inside of it anymore!

We started the journey almost 6 months into living in that last apartment. I called up a friend that also happens to be a realtor and told him I was ready to start looking for a house! I didn’t know chicken squat about what I needed to do or have; I just knew I was ready! He began to send me listings and gave me the name of a guy at the mortgage company and we were on our way! I wish I could tell you that it was smooth sailing; it wasn’t! The whole process was stressful! Any time you want to upgrade your life; the enemy will be on full alert and the attacks will begin! How dare you think that you deserve more? Better? How dare you?

Let me tell you something! I kept on full steam ahead! My Heavenly Father sent his “only begotten son so that we can have life and have it more abundantly” I wasn’t backing down! And you know some may say; well where is this house? Is it up on a hill? Is it 2 stories high? Is it in a gated community? Does it have those high vaulted ceilings? Are there chandeliers hanging throughout? All that is materialistic and isn’t everlasting! God knows I am a simple chic and that the memories we will build here are far more valuable then all that material stuff!

When I walked into this home; I felt at HOME! I didn’t want to leave! I could feel the joy radiating off the walls! I could feel the laughter! I could feel my kids feeling safe and secure! I could feel God blessing us over and over again! We put in an offer and it was accepted! Yes God! But, I have to add there were many houses before this house! Some far more better, had much more land, had even more rooms and space! There was 1 house that was completely renovated! Had the biggest backyard I’ve ever seen and a garage with the exact washer and dryer set I’ve always wanted; but I didn’t have any of those wonderful feelings I experienced in the home we chose! I wasn’t going to settle because my eyes were fascinated at what I saw! The enemy knows what you like; but God knows what you need!

Every morning I get up I still can’t believe it! Our very 1st Home; I could run, yell and scream and not have to worry about anyone living under us calling and complaining about the noise! I don’t have to wait to vacuum until its almost afternoon time because you might disturb the neighbors! The neighborhood is so calm and peaceful! My neighbors are nice and friendly! My kids haven’t fought not once since we moved in! I have an island in my kitchen! Every place we have lived in the past 5 years the kitchen was so small; we all couldn’t fit in there! Our kitchen now can fit all the kitchens from all our past places! Only God!

Let me tell you this if nobody else has: ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WHEN YOU HAVE GOD IN YOUR LIFE!

I’m still a Single Mom, still haven’t found the right career path but let me tell you this; we aren’t living in another apartment because God said it was time to advance!! I don’t question when God moves anymore! I used to get frustrated with him; like come on God when is something going to happen! When will I get married? When will I stop living paycheck to paycheck? When will my books start being on women’s bookshelves and in their hands? When? Our time isn’t God’s time! When He says it is time; then we better be ready! Are you ready? Are you ready to advance? What actions are you taking? All I had to do was “write the vision and make it plain!” NO MORE APARTMENT LIVING IN 2018!

Baby Daddy Season is Over…

First of all, this post isn’t about bashing or putting down anyone! It’s all about respect and both parties learning and knowing how to respect the other person and having boundaries!

Let’s begin:

Have you ever heard the saying “you teach people how to treat you?” My uncle told me something similar years ago; and I always remember his words. Especially when I find myself in a situation where someone isn’t fully respecting me, my time; my space, etc.

As a single mom I shouldn’t have to accommodate; baby daddy and make his life easier! It doesn’t work that way; it’s suppose to be treated like a partnership; 50-50; right?

Without telling all my business and making him look like a real deadbeat; I will share some of what I am constantly going through with this dude; because I know other single moms can relate!

He says he will get the kids this day or that day and then at the last minute; he can’t get them anymore! There have been numerous times he didn’t even say anything; he just didn’t show! Each time I have had to pick the pieces of my boys hearts up off the floor; me not him! I have to deal with their anger of why he didn’t come and get them; me not him!

So over the years I have had to take a stand and say no more! I have a back up option just in case he doesn’t show up; so their hearts aren’t completely crushed! This recent incident I gave him the common courtesy to work out a day that I could drive them halfway to him (because he never wants to drive the whole way) and he never responded! So I got my back up plan in place and it was smooth sailing until 3 days later; he wants to respond and tell me not ask, this is when I can get them. Excuse me sir; we have plans and we aren’t changing them to accommodate you!

How dare I do that? It’s sad, but after all these years this guy still doesn’t respect me and never will! I understand this and realized this years ago! You control how people treat you! You can’t continue to allow people to walk over you and use you as their door mate!

Have you heard this saying? “You reap what you sow!” This is another saying that I keep in the back of my mind; and it applies to all of us. I can only control what I do and how I react to things. Am I being difficult; no I am just asking for the same courtesy; respect!

Even though he doesn’t respect me; I respect myself. I put those boundaries in place and he can’t cross them; because I am in control of my thoughts and how I react!

How many of us; as single moms, have bent over backwards to accommodate baby daddies; who don’t respect us or care how they hurt our children when they don’t do right?

When will it stop?

I had a pastor tell me; I should do everything in my power so my kids can see their father! Really, when he doesn’t even want to lift a hand? When he doesn’t respond to a simple text or call? When he goes out of his way not to pay child support? I’m sorry; who is that helping?

This is the reality of so many women, single moms and their kids! This is the life we live; not the life we have chosen….

Kingdom Gals: For the Love of Money….

What would you do to become rich, wealthy or comfortable? Do you chase money or does money chase you? Are you a lover of money?

Money does make the world go round! Or so they say! But are you suppose to allow money to rule you? Are you supposed to allow it to run your life? Shouldn’t money be under your control?

It seems like everyone and everybody is talking about money these days! Social media is filled with people telling you and showing you various ways to get money, become financially independent and how to become an entrepreneur!

But, is that the will of God for your life or is that some illusion you have become fascinated with? Money is a necessity don’t get me wrong; we all need it to pay bills to survive! But should money be your main focus? Should it become your motive to succeed in this life? Should it become more important than your purpose?

Let’s look at it from this perspective:

Multiple streams of income? Do you welcome this concept? Not sure why I awoke with this on my mind; but as a Single Mom I wish I knew more about this years ago. (The life of a single mom can be hard at times; and money can be scarce at times)

Having multiple streams of income would’ve definitely helped with the bills and just the financial aspect that comes with raising kids!

When you have only one income coming in; you have to stretch it and many times have to make sacrifices to make it work!

Could this be an example of living abundantly? Or being a lender and not a borrower? Or even using the gifts that have been implanted in us to prosper? (From the Bible standpoint what are your thoughts?)

Just remember this; all money isn’t good money! The enemy knows that money is an requirement to live and he will throw all kinds of get rich quick schemes your way! Be on guard and know when it benefits his motives or God’s…..There is a difference..

When we take a look at the Bible we know it talks about “living abundantly” “prospering” “paying your tithes” “being a lender and not a borrower” but does it tell us how to maintain, build wealth, etc.

I believe it does when it speaks on our gifts/talents! We are all supplied gifts and talents but it’s all in how you use them! Are you using them to build up or break down? Are you using them to scheme or mislead? Are you using them to advance your negative lifestyle or motives? Are you using them to change someone’s life?

There are endless opportunities in this world to do some good and live an amazing life according to the Bible!

Things to consider when it comes to money:

1. Money shouldn’t be the main focus!

2. Your Purpose shouldn’t be based off of money!

3. If you have to lie, scheme, kill, sell your soul or your body! Run and don’t look back; it’s definitely not worth it!

4. Every opportunity to gain or build wealth or just survive isn’t a Kingdom opportunity; check the fruit, motives and end game!

5. If it changes your character and outlook on life; then look within and decide if something in you needs to change!

I Just Banged My Toe!

I just banged my toe!

Written by: Evangelist Angie Bee…(includes audio version)

We’ve all done it before, traveled a corner too closely and banged that baby toe. Some of us have even found ourselves wearing Popsicle-stick-splints, wrapped carefully around that fractured big toe. I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone injuring those second, third or fourth toes… but there is probably somebody out there who has managed to do that.

What’s the FIRST thing you say as those nerve endings are flooded by the shock waves of pain? What’s the first thing that escapes your lips? Is it a curse word? An expletive that your mama told you she had BEST not hear come out of your mouths? Is it the standard “OUCH!” or “DARN” or a sympathy-inducing, blood-curdling moan!?

I just banged my toe. Well, actually, I was lifting the vacuum cleaner to re-direct it and it slipped from my hands and fell on the top of my big toe. Yes, I was wearing my slippers and normally this incident would not have bothered me too much… but let me back track a little bit.

In September 2016 I had a bunion on my left foot repaired. I praise God for the health insurance and the patient man of God that tolerated me hobbling around the house on a walker. Unfortunately I put too much weight on that foot in the first week, popped a stick and landed with an infection in that foot. By the time February 2017 rolled around I was experienced and ready to have the bunion on my right foot taken care of.

This time, I wasn’t taking any chances as I expertly rolled around the house in a wheelchair. The bible taught me in 1 Corinthians 6:9 “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself.” ;and I am in a season of repairing my temple! After years of overeating, obesity and basically ignoring the body that God has blessed me to have, I have lost 200 pounds through weight loss surgery and I’m healing better that I could have ever imagined! However, my legs, back and especially my feet suffered immensely over the years that I weighed over 380 pounds and bunions on both feet were the result. It was my goal to continue the restoration of my temple by having both of my feet operated on.

Now, if any of you have ever gone through a planned surgical process, you know that there can be prescriptions, healing apparatus’s and family support in place. My last surgery was in February 2017 and now that the summer is upon us, I don’t have many second thoughts about that procedure. I’m walking pain-free and experimenting with new shoes that make my legs look GREAT! However, through all of these accomplishments, I have to admit that I have not praised God as much as I should have. You know… each of you probably called your mother recently because it was Mother’s Day, or maybe you visited her gravesite or mourned because she is no longer with you. She was remembered and celebrated in some way, but did you thank God for her? What I am trying to say is now that my surgery is over and my healing is upon me, have I reached out to God lately to say “THANK YOU FOR MY SURGERY! or even to say THANK YOU FOR MY HEALING!!! Have I done that?

That’s where the vacuum cleaner comes in to play. You see, I have learned over the years that the FIRST thing that needs to come out of my mouth when I experience pain or fear is JESUS! Even as of late, I have heard the words THANK YOU GOD!!! come out of my mouth, as I ran to get the ice pack or wiped a tear from my eye. I’m not saying that God allowed me to drop the vacuum cleaner on my foot in order to be praised… God is a jealous God, but he ain’t vain… what I am saying is that we need to praise God “in season and out”, when we are in pain and out of pain, during the good times and the bad. Don’t stub your toe and curse God because of the pain! Don’t pray to God before the surgery and not give Him a shout of praise after receiving your healing!

In celebration of Father’s Day, I want to end this piece with a word of advise I learned from my Daddy. Not long ago, I was healing from either an ailment or a surgical procedure, I don’t really remember. Well, I called my daddy in order to get some sympathy and to be babied-on a bit. My precious daddy, Mr. Al James Bennett said to me in a loving and wise voice “you ain’t as young as you used to be, so it’s gonna take you longer to heal up!” (smh – no sympathy came from him on THAT DAY! – lol) However, somewhere in my daddy’s advise I did hear from God through that message. God’s grace and mercy carried us through a lot of pain and heartache earlier in our lives and we may or may not given God the praise that we should have. Isaiah 46:4 says ” Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you”.

God loved us when we didn’t know we were being loved, so now that we KNOW better let us work to praise Him FIRST during our trials and pain.

Happy Father’s Day to my God. Thank you for the love, caring and wisdom you have bathed me in over the years and thank you for allowing me to stub my toe. Thank you for the ice pack that was in my refrigerator and thank you for allowing this message to reach other wise fathers, so they may pass along your teachings to their children. Thank you for my husband and his “fathering” methods and for his ability to hear from you as he guides us both along the path you have set for us. Thank you God for those obstacles in our lives that you allow us to bump in to that bless you Lord. Thank you for the bruises we have endured; that are healing. I ask these and all added blessing be bestowed upon the readers and hearers of your word through this article and I thank you God for allowing me to serve as your hands, feet and your voice.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray
Amen

Happy Father’s Day Everyone and

BEE Blessed.

“Cussin’ – Bad Words – WTF and #*!@?” #SpiritualSundays

When I was, a kid attending Frederick J. Schulze Elementary School in Detroit Michigan, my classmates would use “Bad Words: while whispering to each other.  The “cool” kids would say these “bad words” during conversation, but even the cool kids would avoid allowing their hushed voices to be heard by the teacher.  I wonder if the grown-ups at the school ever knew that some of the kids spoke these words?

Check out the audio version of this blog here:

Once I hit Beaubien Jr. High school, the “Bad words” evolved into cussin’ and the hushed voices grew louder and became more direct toward certain classmates.  I frequently found myself being the target of some of that language as the class bullies seemed to resent everything I wore, everything I smiled about and every “A” that I earned.  I knew that I wasn’t a B-I-T-C-H, but just having that word slung in my direction stung a bit more, each time I heard it.

I grew up attending and being blessed by memberships in two Detroit churches.  I was baptized and raised at Beth Eden Missionary Baptist Church, and at the age of twelve my spiritual growth enlarged through my membership at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church.  Now, I don’t know about other churches or other religions but I do know that EVERY BAPTIST CHURCH I have ever attended always leads you in a song that goes a little something like this:

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer – Amen, Amen, Amen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=885otfEQ9Ug

Now, did I know that song that we sang was a scripture?  Nope!  Did I know that while singing that song in church, I was basically saying out loud that I wanted the words that came out of my mouth to be acceptable to God?  Nope!  “DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH?!”

Once I “grew up” and lived on the college campus, I cussed “like a sailor” because I was “GROWN!” My mama wasn’t around to smack me in the mouth and everybody else on the campus of Wilberforce University was cussing’ too!  That’s when one of the professors mentioned a study that has stuck with me all these years later.  Now, don’t quote me on it but the study said something about the use of vulgar language reflecting the ignorance and poor vocabulary skills of the word cussin’.  Well, I was a communications major and I planned to have a career in radio, so I wasn’t about to reflect ignorance coming out of my mouth!  After that lesson, cuss words only flew out of my mouth during stress or frustration… and even then, I was ashamed afterwards.

These days I will see posts on social media with letters such as “WTF” or “LMFAO”.  These letters are sometimes even posted in a sentence meant to bring humor or accolades, but once I see that letter “F” or letter “A” in there, I get a little sad.  As an adult, we now refer to this language as “Profanity” and although it is no longer directed at me, I still shudder when I hear it spoken; just hearing swear words can make me sad.

“A group of researchers from Kno.e.sis Research CenterWright State University near Dayton Ohio studied why people swear in the online world by collecting tweets posted on Twitter. They found that cursing is associated with negative emotions such as sadness (21.83%) and anger (16.79%) thus showing people in the online world mainly use curse words to express their sadness and anger towards others.[20][21]” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profanity)

You see, our words reflect what is growing on the inside of us.  Kinda like if you ate something last night that doesn’t agree with your tummy, you will find yourself on the toilet by the next morning.  That mess was on the inside of you, so it came out.  Cussin’ reflects something rotten inside of you, so it falls out of your mouth just as easily as that diarrhea plopped outta your butt!

Profanity – offensive words or religious words used in a way that shows you do not respect God or holy things – http://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/profanity

My mama was a holy thing when she lived on Earth.  Even though our mama cussed, I didn’t cuss around my mama (I didn’t want to get a spanking, so that motivated me to keep my mouth clean!).  My husband is a holy thing as he represents the way God loves me in this season of my life.  I don’t cuss around my husband. Just looking at him reminds me that I am loved and respected and appreciated, so I don’t have a reason to cuss him out! (lol).  I am a temple of the Lord and I invite the Lord to live inside me.  I don’t cuss around my temple…I don’t cuss around myself.  I love myself and respect myself, so I don’t cuss in my conversations or in my writings.

Wikipedia reflects that “profanity has come to mean any socially offensive language beyond that strictly religious sense, but tends to exclude any other nonverbal communication. Thus profanity in English may be synonymous with bad language, strong language, coarse language, foul language, bad words, vulgar language, lewd language, choice words or expletives“. – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profanity

On the Sunday, November 20, 2016 ministry broadcast from Pastor Ron Carpenter, he taught that there was a lesson in the bible where a group of people had been led by Moses to a place where they were to drink water.  When the people tasted the water, they found that it tasted bitter and later, scientists tested the water and determined that the bitter taste was the result of a laxative component that would help flush your system.  Ron Carpenter offered that God led those people to the water to get that bad taste of their past slavery out of their systems. http://www.roncarpenter.com/on-demand/detox/

What do you need to get out of your system?

If you don’t get it out spiritually, it will fly out of your mouth offensively.

(Thank you, Jesus!)

On the Sunday, November 20, 2016 broadcast from Pastor Jesse Duplantis, he taught on first fruits and on giving God your best.  He visually taught that God gave us HIS first fruit in that he gave us His first son.  Why don’t we give God our best language of respect, praise and gratitude and cleanse our minds and our tongues from foul language?  Why don’t we give OURSELVES our first fruit of a sweet language on our lips and not the bitter words that fly out and offend?

God gave us his best when he gives us his grace and mercy and when God spoke, he created wonders and lifestyles and an home for us!  When we speak to the waitress, she brings out the best meal that can be prepared for us.  When you hear those words “I Love You”… do you want to hear a cuss word thrown in that statement?!?

Today, let us all strive to “clean up our act” and mentally “wash our mouths out with soap”.  Listen to the lyrics of the music you are feeding into your ears.  Is it laced with profanity and sexual references?  How does that make you feel?  Do you find yourself quoting those lyrics?  Would you want someone referring to you in the way those lyrics refer to another in that song?

Today, let us all strive to replace one curse word at a time with a new vocabulary word in our speech and in our writings.  “WTF” can now be “WITW” (What In The World?” comes from my anointed daughter Jasmine…thanks Princess!)  I prefer ROTFLOL to LMFAO (why do I have to refer to myself as FAT, anyway!  Hmmph).  Today, let us be a “Shining Light of Language” (SLOL) for someone else while we are talking to them; when they realize that each word coming from your mouth is positive and encouraging… they may catch on and repeat your example!

Then I heard the Lord asking,

“Whom should I send as a messenger to this people?

Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” – Isaiah 6:8
