The Butterfly Effect: Shedding the Old Skin

#SpritualSundays

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”. (NKJV)

Have you ever wondered how a caterpillar sheds its old skin and then becomes a butterfly? Anyone that really knows me will know that I am terrified of butterflies! I don’t know why but ever since I was a child I would run when I saw them or when they got anywhere near me. Visiting my dad just a few months ago one got close to me and I was out; he laughed and said, “you got to be kidding me; you’re still scared of them?” I almost laughed at myself but then I had to think about it; what was I afraid of and how could I move past it?

Sometimes to fully understand or comprehend something you should put on your investigative hat and do some research; so, I decided to dive in; care to join me?

First, I wanted to find out how do butterflies even come into play? I learned in elementary that caterpillars turn into butterflies (by the way I don’t care for caterpillars either or anything creepy and crawly!) and they go through stages to become a butterfly; but what were those stages?

butterfly_2

First stage: Egg

Second stage: Caterpillar or Larva (The Feeding Stage)

Third stage: Pupa (The Transition Stage)

Adult: Butterfly (The Reproductive Stage)

The whole process is called metamorphosis which in Greek means “transformation or change in shape” (The Academy of Natural Sciences: Drexel University)

And this is where scripture comes into play; let’s look at 2 Corinthians 5:17 again; you are a new creation and the old things have gone away (paraphrased). How do you become a new creation? How do you rid of the old person, old ways, old habits, old language, old reflexes, old tendencies, old temptations; and become new and improved?

caterpillar

Just like a caterpillar you enter metamorphosis and become transformed! Romans 12:2 says this “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”. (NIV)

When you were conceived you were just an egg that had to be developed; when you began to grow inside your mother’s womb; you had to be properly fed and receive proper nutrients to develop vital parts and organs (caterpillar), to be full term you are there for 9 months and protected not only by the womb but also another protective layer (pupa) due to being precious cargo. When it is time to be born (you shed the old skin and take on a new skin); you are handed to the one that carried you during the transition stages and will continue to guide you through the rest of your life (adult).

How different are our life stages from a butterfly? What do you think is going on through the pupa stages that differs from a human baby; how does that tie into being a new creation (Christian-follower of Jesus-born again)? Can you go to the club on Saturday and be in church on Sunday praising Him? Can you still be committing adultery and ushering people to their seats on Sunday morning? Can you still be going to the strip club and serving as a Youth Leader on Sundays? Can you wish harm on others and still pray for God to bless you? “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord]”. Matthew 6:24 (AMP)

Growth and change takes time; but you should be involved and committed to the full process! You can’t say you Luv God and don’t act like it! You can’t say you’re a born-again Christian and don’t fully represent Him! You can’t say touch not my anointed and you’re living like you’re from the demon family!

If you’re aspiring to be a part of the Kingdom of the Most High; then your old man/woman has to be shredded and shed! Throughout the stages of becoming a butterfly; caterpillars shed their old skin and come out beautifully and wonderfully made! Need I say anymore?

butterfly_1

So many of us are claiming to be born-again, Christian, saved, sanctified and filled with The Holy Ghost but who are you representing? Anyone that makes a statement isn’t doing so under oath and therefore how do we take it to be truth?

So as I reflected on my fear of butterflies I had to check myself! How can I claim to be a child of the Most High and fearful; not only that but fearful of something that He created? “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]”. 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)

Don’t Be So: #SpiritualSundays

Don’t Be So! Written by Evangelist Angie Bee

Don’t be so consumed with the integrity of your work, that you miss an opportunity to minister. Have you ever seen those TV commercials where the child is questioning her parent’s love, because they are cleaning the home on a Saturday instead of spending time with her? Are we busy doing “things” instead of building relationships? Are you missing out on opportunities to share your thoughts, wisdom and love?
Don’t be so effected by your damaged feelings that you forget to pray for your enemies.

In the July 9, 2017 issue of #SpiritualSundays, Ms. McCarthy wrote about “Church Hurt” and how the pain can change your perception of religion, people and even yourself. The article continues to talk about how the devil’s job is to steal from you, kill you and those around you and destroy your perception of life and God’s love for you. This is SO TRUE! We can not let the nudge from an enemy change the pathway that God has placed you upon. When the rock is thrown through your window, you do move out of the house? No! you repair the window! When the house catches on fire, you rebuild! Don’t let the actions or the words from another cause you to feel so much pain that you withdraw from your own path and fail to pray for others. Your prayers may initiate the change in their life that they need!
Don’t be so focused on the Spirit of Excellence that you procrastinate on accomplishing the anointing that was placed on your life, in that moment.

I have spoken to several people over the years that had “visions of grandeur” in terms of a new business or a desired lifestyle. “My business will have state of the art equipment where can provide exceptional service to my clients” or they will say “My home will look like this or my car will be that and people will come to Christ because they want to live like me!”
Over the years, these SAME people have not achieved the status that they aspired to achieve. Why do I believe this is so? These people got SO caught up in the image of doing things with a Spirit of Excellence that they never, even START on the process! Can you imagine if Jesus never began his walk in ministry if his goal was to look excellent or BE excellent or appear excellent? Our sins would never be forgiven! Take that first step! Improve as you go along! LEARN as you make those steps! Strive towards excellence and always give glory to Our Lord through the journey!
In 2 Timothy 2:15 we are instructed to “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth”
and the book of Titus 2:7 instructs us to “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity”.
Model of Good Works – Do the best that you can while you are improving, and stop waiting for the EXCELLENCE to be achieved in order to begin.

Google defines “Integrity” as – the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

Dignity is defined as “the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect” and also “a sense of pride in oneself; self-respect”.
We are all at the beginning of something new, each and every day that we awaken. Let us not be SO focused on tomorrow that we don’t allow God to lead us today.

#SpiritualSundays: Church Hurt….Don’t Walk Away..

Spiritual Sundays:Church Hurt: Don’t Walk Away!

Church hurt is real and many have experienced it! Me included and I will be honest; when it first happened, I was hurt but more disappointed because like so many I didn’t want to go back! But guess what? I wasn’t going to allow the enemy to win! “No weapon formed against me shall prosper”! (Isaiah 54:17)

Have you allowed the actions of another person take you away from your Heavenly Father? Have you allowed them to speak negativity into your life? Have you accepted what they did to you to be from above? Have you left and returned to your old way of doing things? Who does that benefit? Who wins when you turn your back on God?

We must remember who our enemy is and what his plans are! Look at John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”. (KJV) Unfortunately the enemy has an army that loves to carry out his antics and they happen to be in the church; right on the pew sitting next to you! Everyone that steps foot in the four walls that we call “church” isn’t there for the right reasons; but we shouldn’t allow them to push us out! Stop giving your enemy ammunition to destroy your life and keep you from living in abundance and perfect peace!

Whomever told you that walking away from your old life to be a renewed person in Christ was going to easy; misled you! This walk comes with a whole new bucket of trials and tribulations; the enemy doesn’t like to be defeated! So yes, he will be turning it up a notch; but we are built for this! Is this your first battle?

I can tell you from experience; it won’t be your last! But I want you to remember this and get used to saying it: I will not run and hide; for God is on My Side! “And he said, hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, thus saith the Lord unto you, be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s”. (2 Chronicles 20:15)

Stand and don’t you sway! We will have to answer to the things we have done and said in this life! Don’t be one that will lead others astray! “For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed”. (Isaiah 9:16)

So, I ask you; who will you serve? What side of the fence will you stand on? “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. (Joshua 24:15)

The hurt we have experienced can’t be changed, you won’t get an apology, they won’t even admit to their wrong doing; not our problem! At the end of the day we can only control how we respond to it. At first, it will hurt and you just might shed some tears but guess what? You will wake up the next day and that’s when you begin again! Smile; the enemy hates when you do that!

Twas the Night Before Christmas

ball_3

What does this holiday season mean to you? Why do I ask? Because it means something different to the people that you talk too! Everyone will give you a different spin on it and many of you when you hear their analogy; will maybe raise an eyebrow, or two! For some; you can tell what it means without asking them; because they will show you. You see them all over the news and social media standing in these long lines; waiting to purchase material items! They will fight and curse out their neighbor because they took the last television and they really needed that television! Come on now; when did these stores only sell televisions on special occasions? Couldn’t they get that television at other time? So, you are going to make yourself look stupid and cause bodily harm to another human being for something that could possibly break the next day after you purchase it?

Gifts

gift_2

When did we get so focused on gifts? I know you have heard the saying “It is better to give than receive”; does that apply to the holiday season; or has it just been attached to this time of year? When did material things become sort of like the soul focus on this time of year? The stores start putting out holiday decorations way before it’s time; to get people to start buying them early; hence making their financial statements look mighty impressive! They beef up customer service and hire more people in retail doing this time of year; to ensure they have enough hands-on deck to handle the abundance of shoppers! They sit around in their board meetings and team meetings to see how and what they can do to get the most people in their stores; so, they can spend the most money! Only to lay off countless numbers of people after the hype has dwindled down because the holiday season is over; now you have people out of work that were only hired to fill a need of getting them in more money!

What if?

12

What if there were no stores to shop at and spend all your money on gifts? What if the only thing that was available was a piece of paper and a pen/pencil and you had to actually write a note to each person in your life; maybe just the ones that matter! The same folks that you went out of your way to buy all these gifts for! What words would you use? How would you start off your first sentence? Would you talk about the past, present and future? Would your words hurt them or make them feel loved? Would you tell them how much they mean to you? How do you think they would respond; if they were giving this note during the holiday season; instead of an actual gift? Take your time and think about that one….

Something to Meditate On

floral_14 After reading this; does it change your mind? Does it make you rethink anything that you have grown accustomed to doing? Will you do anything differently going forward? Will you incorporate anything that you haven’t been doing to what you are already doing? The point here is just to give some insight, make you think; and possibly start a conversation that will expand your thought process and the thought process of those around you. Whatever this holiday season means to you; let it be filled with love, peace and kindness; that isn’t just self-centered but worldwide.

“Cussin’ – Bad Words – WTF and #*!@?” #SpiritualSundays

When I was, a kid attending Frederick J. Schulze Elementary School in Detroit Michigan, my classmates would use “Bad Words: while whispering to each other.  The “cool” kids would say these “bad words” during conversation, but even the cool kids would avoid allowing their hushed voices to be heard by the teacher.  I wonder if the grown-ups at the school ever knew that some of the kids spoke these words?

Check out the audio version of this blog here:

Once I hit Beaubien Jr. High school, the “Bad words” evolved into cussin’ and the hushed voices grew louder and became more direct toward certain classmates.  I frequently found myself being the target of some of that language as the class bullies seemed to resent everything I wore, everything I smiled about and every “A” that I earned.  I knew that I wasn’t a B-I-T-C-H, but just having that word slung in my direction stung a bit more, each time I heard it.

I grew up attending and being blessed by memberships in two Detroit churches.  I was baptized and raised at Beth Eden Missionary Baptist Church, and at the age of twelve my spiritual growth enlarged through my membership at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church.  Now, I don’t know about other churches or other religions but I do know that EVERY BAPTIST CHURCH I have ever attended always leads you in a song that goes a little something like this:

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer – Amen, Amen, Amen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=885otfEQ9Ug

Now, did I know that song that we sang was a scripture?  Nope!  Did I know that while singing that song in church, I was basically saying out loud that I wanted the words that came out of my mouth to be acceptable to God?  Nope!  “DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH?!”

Once I “grew up” and lived on the college campus, I cussed “like a sailor” because I was “GROWN!” My mama wasn’t around to smack me in the mouth and everybody else on the campus of Wilberforce University was cussing’ too!  That’s when one of the professors mentioned a study that has stuck with me all these years later.  Now, don’t quote me on it but the study said something about the use of vulgar language reflecting the ignorance and poor vocabulary skills of the word cussin’.  Well, I was a communications major and I planned to have a career in radio, so I wasn’t about to reflect ignorance coming out of my mouth!  After that lesson, cuss words only flew out of my mouth during stress or frustration… and even then, I was ashamed afterwards.

These days I will see posts on social media with letters such as “WTF” or “LMFAO”.  These letters are sometimes even posted in a sentence meant to bring humor or accolades, but once I see that letter “F” or letter “A” in there, I get a little sad.  As an adult, we now refer to this language as “Profanity” and although it is no longer directed at me, I still shudder when I hear it spoken; just hearing swear words can make me sad.

“A group of researchers from Kno.e.sis Research CenterWright State University near Dayton Ohio studied why people swear in the online world by collecting tweets posted on Twitter. They found that cursing is associated with negative emotions such as sadness (21.83%) and anger (16.79%) thus showing people in the online world mainly use curse words to express their sadness and anger towards others.[20][21]” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profanity)

You see, our words reflect what is growing on the inside of us.  Kinda like if you ate something last night that doesn’t agree with your tummy, you will find yourself on the toilet by the next morning.  That mess was on the inside of you, so it came out.  Cussin’ reflects something rotten inside of you, so it falls out of your mouth just as easily as that diarrhea plopped outta your butt!

Profanity – offensive words or religious words used in a way that shows you do not respect God or holy things – http://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/profanity

My mama was a holy thing when she lived on Earth.  Even though our mama cussed, I didn’t cuss around my mama (I didn’t want to get a spanking, so that motivated me to keep my mouth clean!).  My husband is a holy thing as he represents the way God loves me in this season of my life.  I don’t cuss around my husband. Just looking at him reminds me that I am loved and respected and appreciated, so I don’t have a reason to cuss him out! (lol).  I am a temple of the Lord and I invite the Lord to live inside me.  I don’t cuss around my temple…I don’t cuss around myself.  I love myself and respect myself, so I don’t cuss in my conversations or in my writings.

Wikipedia reflects that “profanity has come to mean any socially offensive language beyond that strictly religious sense, but tends to exclude any other nonverbal communication. Thus profanity in English may be synonymous with bad language, strong language, coarse language, foul language, bad words, vulgar language, lewd language, choice words or expletives“. – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profanity

On the Sunday, November 20, 2016 ministry broadcast from Pastor Ron Carpenter, he taught that there was a lesson in the bible where a group of people had been led by Moses to a place where they were to drink water.  When the people tasted the water, they found that it tasted bitter and later, scientists tested the water and determined that the bitter taste was the result of a laxative component that would help flush your system.  Ron Carpenter offered that God led those people to the water to get that bad taste of their past slavery out of their systems. http://www.roncarpenter.com/on-demand/detox/

What do you need to get out of your system?

If you don’t get it out spiritually, it will fly out of your mouth offensively.

(Thank you, Jesus!)

On the Sunday, November 20, 2016 broadcast from Pastor Jesse Duplantis, he taught on first fruits and on giving God your best.  He visually taught that God gave us HIS first fruit in that he gave us His first son.  Why don’t we give God our best language of respect, praise and gratitude and cleanse our minds and our tongues from foul language?  Why don’t we give OURSELVES our first fruit of a sweet language on our lips and not the bitter words that fly out and offend?

God gave us his best when he gives us his grace and mercy and when God spoke, he created wonders and lifestyles and an home for us!  When we speak to the waitress, she brings out the best meal that can be prepared for us.  When you hear those words “I Love You”… do you want to hear a cuss word thrown in that statement?!?

Today, let us all strive to “clean up our act” and mentally “wash our mouths out with soap”.  Listen to the lyrics of the music you are feeding into your ears.  Is it laced with profanity and sexual references?  How does that make you feel?  Do you find yourself quoting those lyrics?  Would you want someone referring to you in the way those lyrics refer to another in that song?

Today, let us all strive to replace one curse word at a time with a new vocabulary word in our speech and in our writings.  “WTF” can now be “WITW” (What In The World?” comes from my anointed daughter Jasmine…thanks Princess!)  I prefer ROTFLOL to LMFAO (why do I have to refer to myself as FAT, anyway!  Hmmph).  Today, let us be a “Shining Light of Language” (SLOL) for someone else while we are talking to them; when they realize that each word coming from your mouth is positive and encouraging… they may catch on and repeat your example!

I Am Not A Pageant Winner; But God Still Made Me A Queen: #SpiritualSundays

I Am Not A Pageant Winner;

But God Still Made Me A Queen

By Evangelist Angie BEE “Da Queen Bee”

Edited by the Anointed Loretha Simon

A couple of months ago my husband and I found ourselves surrounded by intelligent, talented and extremely beautiful women.  My husband is SUCH a gentleman that his expression never changed, his head never turned and his soulful eyes remained gazed upon me; however, I have to admit that I felt a bit small that day.  I mean, these women had perfectly coiffed and colored hair, their makeup was PERFECT along with their teeth and their outfits were enhanced by sashes.  Some of them even wore crowns on their heads!

For the second year in a row my husband was invited to participate in the Ms. and Mrs. Florida United States Pageant, which occurred in Volusia County, Florida and I was there to witness the crowning of a queen.

What makes a queen these days?  Baby Charlotte was born into a royal family but she wasn’t born a queen.  I think her official title is “Her Royal Highness, Princess Charlotte”.  I heard the news media refer to her brother as the “Heir” and she as the “Spare”.  I don’t know that I would want to be referred to as a “Spare”… but in England, she was born into prestige and wealth, so maybe that makes up for it.

The beauty pageant contestants (referred to as Delegates) are all competing to be The Queen.  It’s actually quite an impressive competition!  A showcase of wonderful women who all fit into a list of qualifications; seeking an opportunity to represent their county, city, state and the platform that is most dear to them.  We heard about cancer awareness and domestic violence during their speeches; we learned about the families that raised them and we learned about their goals.  Pageantry certainly draws quite an eclectic mix of wonders to its doors!

Let me tell you about Dr. Veronica Duncan Walters from Tampa, Florida (Dr. V).  My husband Bartee and I met her during the 2014 pageant.  When Pageant Director Pam Bolter invited my husband Bartee to be a judge, all I could think of was half naked, 6-foot tall lovelies parading in front of my hubby, blowing him cleavage-anchored kisses in a bid to secure his vote.  Bartee and I had only been married for 8 months at that time and I wasn’t about to let temptation enter our honeymoon, so I asked Pam if I could tag along… with my shot-gun in my purse (lol).  She agreed to put up with me, and I will be forever grateful for attending.

I was seated strategically behind the judges so I could witness it all.  I had my trusty camera with me and snapped a few pictures.  Several delegates bounced into the room and wowed the judges  but when Dr. V entered the room, the atmosphere changed!  The illumination that radiated off her shoulders was indescribable!  The confidence, the joy, the ease upon her face even made ME sit up a bit straighter!  Out of the dozen or so delegates that faced the judges that day, she was the only one my husband directed a question to… and she NAILED her answer.  On this particular day she was a Queen, you could tell she was a Queen and that she had been a Queen for some time.

Now, Dr. Veronica didn’t have the figure of a beauty pageant contestant.  By her own admission, she wore a size 16 in a room full of “size 2” women.  If there were 12 delegates competing that day, 10 of them were Caucasian and she was the lone African American.  Her formal gown appeared to have come from a department store, not the boutiques where the others obviously purchased their gowns. Her makeup (although it looked good to me) wasn’t expertly applied with highlights and false lashes and glitter and gloss.  Oh, don’t get me wrong… she is a STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL woman, but on that day she just didn’t look like a pageant girl.  She competed in the “Mrs.” category and you could tell that she wasn’t in it for prestige.  She was competing for another reason and I wondered to myself if she was searching for the title of “Queen”.  Hmmmmm

When I dedicated my life to Christ many years ago, I didn’t realize that dedication came with a price and a title.  The price that I paid was to live in darkness for a while. With the hand of God upon my life,

He allowed me to survive THREE suicide attempts as the result of Major Depressive Disorder while raising my daughters in a domestically violent household.  My God gave me the strength to leave an abusive husband; and

  • Gifted me with a global radio show – we celebrated  our tenth year on the air last summer.
  • Directed me to launch an outreach TOUR five years ago which now includes a Holy Hip Hop concert and SIX testimonial workshops!
  • Led me to write my first book detailing the depression and final suicide attempt and a second book detailing my 200 pound weight loss!
  • Gifted me with a global TV show and last but not least, just after my youngest left home to attend college…
  • God blessed me to marry the man that calls me his “rib”.

Bartee and I met in February 2013, he proposed in May 2013 and we married in August 2013.  LOOK AT GOD!  The price for my life then was a temporary bout with darkness that I still live with everyday… but the title that the Lord graced me with was QUEEN.  He named me “Da Queen Bee” and I buzz about as a round, yellow, busy-little-bumble bee for Christ.  People ask me why “they” call me “Da Queen Bee” and I reply: “That’s the name that God gave me”.

What makes a queen these days?  How can YOU be granted the title of QUEEN?  The baby Princess will be fully grown one day and she may own that title, or it’s possible she will always be called the “Spare”.  Dr. Veronica won a crown and a title on that April day in 2014.  She was crowned “Ms. Inspirational United States” and I promise you that her crown was bigger and more glamorous than the other Ms. and Mrs. Queens that were also crowned that day!

My Lord and Savior died on the cross for me many years ago, and even though I didn’t know it then, when I dedicated my life to serve Him I became a Queen.

After the 2014 pageant ended, I became friends with Dr. Veronica Duncan Walters.  She has made appearances during our TOUR workshops, sharing her testimony of motherhood and her path to the crown.  I also came to find out she is the founder and PASTOR of a church in Largo, Florida (The ACTS Church International) and her congregation encouraged her and drilled her on her pageant entry skills!  When I interviewed her for my TV show, it was just following her SECOND pageant where she won several additional titles!

How does a Pastor decide to compete in a beauty pageant?  The Lord led her to it!  She is a Queen in His Kingdom.  Her official appearances and the doors that were opened to her allowed her to be Inspirational… to be a witness to his Love and Glory.

What makes a Queen these days? Faith, dedication, family support and in some cases – Obedience to the Voice of God

My husband, Bartee sang at the pageant last year while also serving as a judge, and this year he brought his karaoke show for the delegates to enjoy.  They had a great time singing and dancing together after dinner on the night before the pageant.    Bartee sang for the audience again during the pageant, it was just before the Queen was announced and I’m excited to say that pageant founder Pam Bolter invited us BOTH to return this year to serve as judges!

In 2015 the delegates came from Florida AND Georgia and there was more diversity among the ladies.  There were some shorter ladies and some curvier ladies… and I didn’t feel so small standing among them.  I saw some familiar faces from last year and I’m following several of them on Facebook.  They are representing their platforms and fulfilling their goals with elegance.  I’ve even been watching The GOOD LIFE Channel 45 in Orlando and one of the show hosts announced that she was a Florida pageant Queen over 40 years ago!  WOW!  Royalty!  Kings and Queens among us!  If we claimed our Kingdom crowns what could we accomplish in our lives?  What could we accomplish for others?  What kind of wives would be?

Consider this:  How could men honor and love their wives if they acted like Kings and treated their wives like Queens?  ROYALTY!  Recording artist Mali Music sings those lyrics in his song… ROYALTY!  “Lift your head, come back home… we are a chosen Priesthood of Royal people…ROYALTY”.

Thank you Jesus!

Have I ever thought about competing in a pageant?  No; not since I competed with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Xi Chapter, way back in college.  Have I ever dreamed about marrying into a royal family?  Not really.  Do I feel like I am a Queen just because I have an award-winning radio show or lead an award-winning ministry workshop?

Nope.  I was BORN into royalty, just like YOU were.  Our Father God is the King of ALL Kings and we are his children, so you must accept that Jesus died for your sins and “straightened” your crown!  Glide into a room with your head held high!  Treat others as you would like to be treated and read the scriptures to remind you of what you should already know!  Check out my Facebook post from May 21, 2015:

Scripture and love surrounded me even when I didn’t appreciate the value of it!

When I graduated from high school in 1983, my yearbook proclaimed me as the

“Class Peacemaker”

Today, God revealed to me that I am certainly His child and He put it in print, even way back then. What has God written about YOU? Think about it!

Thank you Lord!

Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Then I heard the Lord asking,

“Whom should I send as a messenger to this people?

Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” – Isaiah 6:8

BEE Blessed!

Giving your Mind a Break

Have you ever had to do this? Take a break for your peace of mind? I had to do this recently; had lots going on and I just felt stuffy. I want to believe that it was God’s way of saying; we need to talk and I need your undivided attention!

People, places and things many times will crowd you and overtake you if you allow it; and especially if you aren’t strong enough to step away. This can be one of the reasons people have mental breakdowns; just the overload of everything rushing them all at once.

I have been praying for clarity for sometime now and I believe I’m starting to get just that. In my hiatus I got a download in my spirit; to incorporate other bloggers, writers and lovers of the word; the bible! In this journey that I have found myself on and call it Spiritual Sunday’s.

I didn’t know how it was going to be received or if I would get any takers but I put out the call; and some have answered!  I am excited because each one of us are unique in our own way but we all have love and passion for others; and its just going to be awesome!

The word says that we are to ask and it will be given! I asked for clarity and this is just the beginning! Stay tuned and be on the look out for Spiritual Sunday’s starting the 21st of August..

Until next time..Peace & Blessings
