Who Are You Raising? #SpiritualSundays

With so much going on in the world today; I thought this would be a good topic to reflect on! I had to get my approach in the right place and get my emotions in check before I touched on the subject and hopefully it will reach someone.

Proverbs 22: 6 says this “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it“. (NKJV)

Society is always saying that it starts at home!

Who are you raising? Are you raising your children to become strong young boys and young ladies that can be respectful and considerate of others? That will show others kindness and love? That will be compassionate to those in need and empathize with situations even if they don’t comprehend the full reality? Kids grow up to become adults and we have to remember while it may start at home; it continues into adulthood! (Something to think about).

Who are you connected to?

John 15: 5I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing.” (NKJV)

I can honestly say; I have never received a call thus far about any of my children from teachers about them disrupting their class at school or being disrespectful. All of their teachers have always praised them for being good kids.

Now at home may be a different story! Lol they are in their element; their natural habitat around family and are bound to show out! When they leave out that door I have always raised and taught them to be on their best behavior! They not only represent themselves but their parent(s). What parent wants to know their child is acting a fool out in public? In society where there is criticism every way you turn? You can raise good kids but once they walk out that door with their friends and break loose and things get out of hand; they are looked upon as a villain, thug, terrorist; what have you because society likes to use labels. They could be on their way to the movies, store, mall, school, sporting event, work etc and still be considered a threat.

Please open the book and read; before you judge!

In some cases the label may be in fact a true character example; but what about when it’s not? Some of us will believe what we are told with doing absolutely no research or investigation of our own! The news says that he had a gun; he was robbing someone, he was out there selling drugs!

John 15: 18-19If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” (NKJV)

5 Things That Can Change the World We Live In

1. Manners: Are you teaching them about using manners? These are so important to instill in our children; it goes along way! Hello. Thank you. How are you? Excuse me. I’m sorry. Very simple words can change the world; don’t you agree?

2. Compassion/Sympathy:  Are you teaching them about compassion and sympathy? I don’t know  or haven’t experienced what you have; but I’m still sorry for what you are going through (this is how we are to respond to what others are facing or may be facing; we don’t assume or point fingers).

3. Empathy: Are you teaching them about empathy? You put yourself in the shoes of others; you try to understand their feelings, situations what have you. You give and show your support; not criticize what you don’t know.

4. Color Blind: Are you teaching them that we all come in different shades of color; and that we are all still the same? We bleed the same blood? We cry the same tears? We all feel pain? Have you taught them that?

5. Love: Are you teaching them to love themselves as well as others? So many of our children are growing up unloved! They become adults whom don’t know how to love or be loved? Do you tell them that you love him or her?

Prayer Has Never Hurt Anybody!

Heavenly Father there is so much going on in the world today; Father help us! There is so much hatred, heartache and pain! Father we need you! We need your protection Lord, the enemy has been very busy; our children, our fathers, our sisters, our brothers. Cover us Lord like only you can; block the enemy and keep us far from his reach. In the mighty name of your son Jesus! Amen.

Why Are You Still Single? #SpiritualSundays

There are so many reasons and answers to this question to singles around the globe. You can be a veteran single or even a newbie; and whatever the reason or answer you give the person; it wouldn’t suffice!

One thing that people need to realize especially if you are a spiritual person first and foremost; is that it has to be the will of our Heavenly Father that you get married and stay married! That you are qualified ready; in body, mind, soul and spirit!

The meaning of qualified as it relates to this article: : having the necessary skill, experience, or knowledge to do a particular job or activity : having the qualifications to do something. (Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 2015)

Now many will say what in the world is she talking about? People get married every single day and it doesn’t matter if they are qualified ready or spiritual! And you know what I say to that look at all these failed marriages, the divorce rates and people killing off their spouse so they can be with the next person! They weren’t ready! Their mind, body, soul or spirit wasn’t ready for the blessing! Being tempted is a terrible thing that the weak can’t handle! Strong willed, strong minded and spiritually fit individuals can win this battle anytime; any place! But you have to be ready!

Let’s take a look of some of the reasons that many people; men and women aren’t ready to be married.

Reasons why you are still single: Don’t compromise or lower your standards! (Can apply to men and women) Good for you but bad for them.

1. They don’t respect you! Ephesians 5:3

2. They are afraid of heights!

You know your purpose and are walking in it and it’s too much for them; they want all your time and attention.

3. They will dim your shine!

To keep you from advancing in life, your career etc they will be negative and speak negatively towards you and what your trying to accomplish.

4. They aren’t spiritually mature! Hebrews 5:13-14

5. They can’t give up self for us: Ephesians 5:31

Reasons why you are still single: Workable points

1. You aren’t ready (Men & Women): Ephesians 5:8-14

Many singles will verbalize that they are ready to settle down; but their actions tell a different story.

2. You haven’t done your work (Men & Women): 2 Corinthians 6:14

Your past can’t follow your future!

3. You don’t know how to be submissive (Women): Ephesians 5:22-24

So many of us don’t want a man to tell us nothing! Some of us don’t know how to be the Princess or Queen we are called to be! Yes we can be royalty but the Prince or King were created to lead.

4. You can’t let go (Men & Women): 1 Corinthians 11:1

Are you following in close proximity or lagging behind?

5.  You haven’t figured out your why (Men & Women): Jeremiah 29:11

We all were created for a purpose and have a mission to fulfill; what is yours?

Adam wasn’t complete until Eve came along! Adam had purpose but he needed a help-meet to fulfill it! Our Heavenly Father knew what Adam needed in a woman and ‘he‘ made sure she was well put together! Eve was qualified ready! Many of us have to let go and allow Our Heavenly Father to do some reconstructive surgery, because of the journey we decided on before we knew him; it changed our inner and outer appearance and know our suitable mate can’t recognize us!

This is going to take some time and effort on our part and we have to be in it for the long haul. Pay no mind to the question seekers; find something positive that will keep you focused (like your purpose/mission). If you’re going to date; be upfront and honest with the individual. Many people say you shouldn’t mention marriage early on and I say why not? You are dating to become married right? Why go through the motions with someone only to learn months down the line; they have no intentions to get married to you or anyone? Not to say the first person you will date is going to be your spouse; but both parties have to be on the same page.

There are some of us singles that may choose not to date (me) we would actually like to do our work and (all those points that you read above) get on one accord with Our Heavenly Father and let the chips fall as they may. (It can be a choice and it could be that Our Heavenly Father has placed some of us in Solitary Confinement) Not anyone of us are perfect; but it’s not a secret that we are on different levels and on different journeys. We can’t compare or contrast ourselves as singles or individuals but we can encourage, empower, motivate and inspire others to do and be their best!

Song by Troop (Spread My Wings)

Hook:

“The sky is calm

The stars are bright.

What’s better than to be in flight..

I’ll relax my mind

And be at ease….

And let this journey

Set me free

Set me free”

When the World Says No; But God Says Yes. Written by Bridget McCarthy: Spiritual Sunday’s

We live in a world of uncertainty, but for all my spirit led men and women out there we already know we are not of this world, when the world says No, our Heavenly Father says Yes Sir/Ma’am!! I could just stop there and be done with it but I have some encouraging words for you.

It doesn’t matter how many doors get slammed in your face, literally and figuratively, or how many letters of rejection you get via email or even snail mail from all those jobs ads that you applied to that you know very well that you are more than qualified for. The scripture tell us “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NKJV)

Just know our Lord and savior will work it out. I know many of you, as myself would like this political election to just be over, “I swear ( I just want it) to be over, (I just want it) to be over” (Keisha Cole, 2005). Well, in a few short months it will be over and we will have a new president.

The political candidates put in a lot of time and effort to prepare for their speeches and all those public appearances that they will be making; shaking hands, kissing those babies, just out on the campaign trail trying to sell themselves to the American people. Isn’t this much like preparing for that big job interview with that Fortune 500 Company; or the tech start-up company that just opened or the local grocer in your area? You have to have your suit pressed (steam pressed for me), shoes polished, hair and nails done.

As you’ll be making public appearance or many appearances. Ultimately, you’re selling yourself to that potential employer and in today’s job market you will find yourself making a number of pit stops and shaking a lot of hands. To be a man or women of color searching for employment in today’s society is just down right tough.

Once, you get invited into the establishment(s) and the hiring manager or managers see that you are of color they start to act very differently than they did during your initial phone interview. He/she now calls in another person to sit in on the interview with you and you’re just being told this today as your signing in at the front desk. The hiring manager is clearly nervous and goes off his/her script and begins to ask you “how are your writing skills?” And you don’t recall this being mentioned in the job posting or even a requirement of the position that you applied for.

However, you respond by letting them know your skills are exceptional, on a scale of 1 to 10, you’re a 9.5. Then you start to think, aren’t many of the greatest authors men and women of color?

Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, Toni Morrison and Langston Hughes just to name a few. Of course, the list can go on and on. Many employers and people with a hiring authority are knowingly going against the bibles daily truths, judge not so that I may not be judged, love one another as you love yourself, treat others as you would want to be treated. In fact, these individuals are taking an excerpt from the un moral book of ethics and they are creating hurdles and challenges for people of color that are seeking work opportunities.

It’s unfortunate and it’s a shame for anyone to be in a position to make a hiring decision to disqualify someone based on the color of their skin, male vs. female, disabled or not, young or old. But you know what, it happens and it’s happening more than ever in this season. People that have a hiring authority are making their selections based off fear. Fear is one of many sins committed. I’m not sure why when Psalm 23:4 says “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” New American Standard Bible (NASB)

It’s clear and it’s evident that there are not enough Christian men and women left in this world that operate in a place of love, peace and kindness. Though, you may have hit a rough patch in your life or in your career just know there’s a remedy for that and his name is, Jesus.

It says in Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (English Standard Version, ESV).

Many people are not operating in their faith or even being led by the spirit but that’s where we, women and men of Christ come into play.

What Size Is Your Tank? Written by Tarsha Campbell: Spiritual Sunday’s

I heard an interesting fact about a certain fish called the Oscar fish. This particular fish when placed in the right environment has the ability to reach its potential size of 16 inches. However, if placed in a limited environment, such as a small fish tank, this fish will never grow to reach its full potential. After hearing this interesting fact it made me wonder: How many people have lived, died, and never reached their full potential because their tank was too small?

Metaphorically speaking, your tank size can be a multitude of limiting factors that can keep you from reaching your full potential. These limiting factors can include:

Certain associations (the people you hang with, your connections)

• Mindsets (how you think)

• Education (skill set, your understanding)

• Your level of revelation

• Your level of influence

• Your comfort zones

Upon reading the list above I want to present two questions to you. What size is your tank? Will your current environments allow you to reach your full potential? It’s imperative that you face and answer these questions if you want to continue to grow and be all God has purposed you to be. It’s not always easy to leave behind the familiar, but I guarantee it will be worth it in the end.

Your Next Step Coaching For Success Minute:

Identify the tanks that are too small in your life.

• Why you have chosen to stay in these limiting environments? (fear, hate change, etc.)

• For each area of your life devise a strategy to move to a larger tank size.

• Make a conscious decision to grow and celebrate your growth.

A Mother’s Worst Nightmare. Spiritual Sunday’s

“All things are full of labor; Man cannot express it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor the ear filled with hearing. That which has been is what will be,That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun”. Ecclesiastes 1:8-9 NKJV

I thought about putting pen to paper all week and I guess now; I have made the decision to go forth. I don’t believe in holding back your testimony it doesn’t help anyone if you keep quiet. I did want to make sure I had clarity on what I believe needed to be shared and be mindful of the message that would come forth; as well as respectful to the other parties.

Please be advised: the standpoint of this testimony (message) is from the mouth of a single mom.

Being a single mom, when my kids began to get older; I would worry about their well being. But once I gave my life back to God I began to pray for their wellbeing. Even though I prayed it would always get me on high alert whenever they stepped out the door; especially with all the craziness going on in the world. Even though they weren’t criminals they could be assumed as one and be snatched from my presence at any giving moment; as a mom that is hard to handle on a daily basis.

Not only that; you have to wonder if the people they are around are good for them and not involving them in things they wouldn’t normally be a part of! People are always saying even when I came up as a kid “you have to allow them to make their own mistakes”; I never quite got that part of the conversation.

You can be the best parent and have the best kids; but I’m here to tell you that doesn’t shield you from tragedy hitting close to home or stopping at your front door! I had to experience this first hand.

From the time my kids were small I have always instilled in them that family comes first! And this includes friends that come into our lives that become family; if they are my kids friends, they are my kids and part of our family! No matter what! If they hurt; we hurt! If they are going through; we are going through! If they are in need and we can fill that need; then it will be done!

“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them”. – Deuteronomy 4:9 (NIV)

Saturday August 20, 2016 will be a day I will never forget; it’s the day I got the call I have always been fearful of. Even though I’m saved and my children are saved; this type of call as always been in the back of my mind!

Our Heavenly Father is a protector, comforter, deliverer; (just to name a few) and I will always believe that! But I have to tell you I wasn’t ready for this call; it was from the Chaplian of one of the local hospitals and he wanted to talk about my son! The things that went through my mind in the matter of minutes; when I answered the call I was sitting but soon as I heard him say my son’s name I was on my feet and running!

I tried my best to sit and stand still while he told me my son and his best friend had been in a bad car accident; I believe I did my best to keep my composure and not start wailing on the phone. My son’s friend is the kind of friend I had been praying for to come into my son’s life! My prayers had been answered and I was happy that finally my son had this blessing from God! My son would light up whenever they were in each other’s presence; they would hang out whenever their schedules permitted and I didn’t have to worry because I knew and felt he was safe! As a mom that wanted the absolute best for her child I was very happy. His friend’s family had welcomed my son with open arms and treated him like their own; this also meant a lot because his father and his father’s family wanted nothing to do with my son.

This call shattered all our lives; all those dreams, all the plans they had been making! After I hung up I wanted answers and I just couldn’t believe or understand why this was happening! I knew I couldn’t drive and I couldn’t go to the hospital on my own; I called my daughter to come get me and called my other son to meet us there. The whole car ride over so much went through my head; “were they okay, I knew what the Chaplian had told me but I believed in God and I knew he could perform miracles, but it had to be his will not mine.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him”. – 1 John 3:1 (NIV)

The reality came to be that my son’s friend wouldn’t make; my son was alive but fractured bones in his skull, neck and hand would have to be part of his continued journey in this life. His friend that had become more like a brother was gone! That’s something we all will have to help him face and that’s a challenge that will make us all stronger and appreciate each other more than ever!

While my kids and I have always been a tight bunch; this has brought us much closer and stronger as a unite! I got to see my kids show up and show out for their brother; forgetting about themselves and their needs and putting his first. I thank my Heavenly Father almost everyday for allowing me to be their mom; they will hit those nerves sometimes but it’s times like this that outweigh any of that.

This was one of the most hardest articles for me to write as a mother, woman and child of our Heavenly Father but he has a plan, a purpose and a blessing tied in here for someone else and who am I to stand in the way of that.

It is my prayer that whomever reads this will find and grab hold of whatever it is that he needs you too and that you share it with someone else; don’t block anyone else’s blessing or breakthrough.

Points to Remember: Takeaways

1. There is Purpose in your Pain

On the day of the funeral my son’s friend dad got up to speak about his son and in between tears; these are the words that were downloaded into my spirit: there is purpose in your pain!

When something of this magnitude happens; yes you will be in pain but there is God given purpose, written all over it. We must pray for clarity and go forth.

2. Turn Tragedy into Blessings

Share your story! Your testimony can bless someone else. You can get them unstuck; everyone doesn’t have the same strength levels; they may need to see and hear how you handled it and make it through.

Until next time,

Spiritual Sunday’s:

Spiritual Sunday's......

Welcome to Spiritual Sunday’s!

My last blog I gave a short introduction to what Spiritual Sunday’s will be and I am excited to present you our first guest blogger; Ms Angie Bee!

“Buzzin’ With Da Queen BEE”

submitted by Evangelist Angie BEE

Edited by Mother Loretha Simon

Alls my life I has to fight, nigga

Hard times like God

Bad trips like: “God!”

Nazareth, I’m f—ed up

Homie you f—ed up

But if God got us then we gon’ be alright

Nigga, we gon’ be alright

Nigga, we gon’ be alright

We gon’ be alright

Do you hear me, do you feel me? We gon’ be alright

– By Kendrick Lamar

Why would I begin an inspirational message with the foul-mouth language of a hip hop recording artist? I don’t think other evangelists would begin a message with a rap song and I bet my beloved Pastor would be disappointed to read the opening of this article, but there is a message in this madness so keep on reading.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar has won:

– a Grammy

– A BET Award

– an MTV Award

– countless global fans and a

– Soul Train Music Award

There are young adults and hip hop fans who can quote Lamar’s lyrics faster than they can spell their names.  I know this song is laced with profanity and reflections of trials and troubles from both film and reality, but I cling to the shining light that beamed from the midst of this song:

But if God got us then we gon’ be alright!

How can you be encouraged when you are sick or injured or facing a trial?  Is it really feasible to believe that a person can “look to the heavens from which cometh my health and strength” when they are dealing with a broken bone or an impending surgical procedure?  Hmmm…

1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit; a place where God can dwell.  Our bodies are considered houses!  Many of us will put on makeup or purchase a new suit before dealing with pain or dysfunction within our bodies.  Does that new eye makeup cover up the fact that you are squinting when you read?  Do those new running shoes cover the foot fungus that you have ignored for months?  Hmmm…

Now, what if your home has a foundation issue that resulted in cracks throughout the walls?  Are there shingles missing from your roof? Do you slap a coat of paint on the walls to cover the cracks or do you work to restore the foundation?  If your home is the place where you dwell, would you take care of your home?  If your body is a home where God dwells, then it is time to take care of it!

=================

It’s not a valley of sickness, it is a valley of restoration! When we get a bad medical report, just wait for doors to open.  God wouldn’t have led you to this situation if He didn’t have a new direction for you into a valley of victory.  Your valleys are leading you to your victories! Joel Osteen

As I write this article, I am lying on my couch with my laptop on my lap and my foot propped up on a pillow.  Last week, I had bunion surgery and my foot still holds the stitches.  During my first follow-up to the surgeon, she revealed to me that I had popped one of my stitches and my foot was red; leading me to 14 days of antibiotics.  My surgery was on Monday and my first follow-up was on Wednesday.  How did all this happen during the course of TWO DAYS?!  I didn’t respect my temple.  The pain meds were working, my walker was within arms reach and I felt like I didn’t want to be a burden to my family so I hobbled around a bit.

I slapped some paint on my cracks and ended up doing more harm to my temple!  I ain’t doing that no more.  My foot is propped up, the ice pack is in place and I have a remote control in my hand!  Hmmph!

==================

God will certainly speak to you whether you want to hear from Him or not.  Kendrick Lamar SCREAMS the lyrics in his song to tell audiences “But if God got us then we gon’ be alright” and some of us don’t hear that inspirational word, because we don’t listen to rap music.  God used Lamar to deliver that word, and we don’t like the cussing, so we don’t listen to the song.

While I was writing this article, I had the TV on my favorite channel with Joyce Meyer on mute.  Why would I put a message from God on mute?  Because, I was trying to write this article (lol).  Well, I looked up from my laptop and saw Joyce make a funny face, and I turned up the volume on my TV just in time to hear her speak these words from God:

“If we just keep asking for miracles, God will keep giving them to us; but if we ask God for WISDOM… we can avoid the pitfalls that require a miracle to climb out of”.Joyce Meyer

Now, I realize that waking up from any surgical procedure is a miracle.  My blessed Mother-in-Law used to say “They put you so far down under in sleep that you don’t even know that you’re in the world!” I don’t take for granted that any surgery is routine and I give God ALL the praise for the miracle of healing.

BUT – –

Along with that miracle, a person needs wisdom.  I should have rested following my foot surgery and if I had used wisdom, I would not have injured my foot or required antibiotics.  If I had used wisdom and allowed my family to care for me during that time, I would not have strained myself trying to sit up… and I would not have gotten a hernia.  Yep, you read it right!  I have an estimated 4 inch tear in my abdomen and now I need ANOTHER surgery to repair it.  Wisdom.  I asked for a miracle, but lacked the wisdom once I received that miracle and now I’m quoting Kendrick Lemar lyrics.

We gon’ be alright!

Do you hear me, do you feel me? We gon’ be alright!

My body IS a temple of the Lord and because of this knowledge, I wrote a book entitled “The Evolution of Da Queen Bee”.  This book details my 200 pound weight loss and the miracle of healing from disease through Gastric Bypass surgery.  #EvolutionOfDaQueenBee

My body IS a temple of the Lord and because of this understanding, I wrote a book entitled “Last Week…I Wanted To Die” which detailed the mental illness that led me to three suicide attempts.   #LastWeekIwantedToDie

I chose to no longer limp around in pain from my foot and have my temple restored. How can I preach to others of the goodness of a healing God when my toe hurts too much to stand before His people?!  I didn’t just slap some paint on the cracks, I restored my foundation.  My foot is HEALED, in the name of Jesus!

God didn’t heal me from

– Type 2 diabetes

– High Blood Pressure

– Sleep Apnea

– Poor circulation

– GERD

– PTSD and

– suicidal major depression in order to let me fall down from a bunion!  God allowed me to learn my lesson and gain wisdom with this hernia, so now I am allowing my entire body the opportunity to rest. Thank you Lord!  Everyone marvels over the Proverbs 31 woman, but take a look at the Proverbs 3:13 woman!!!  Now THAT’S who I want to grow up and be like!

#Jesus

Lord, I thank you for the miracles you have allowed me to see, to speak and to be a part of.  Thank you for not only restoring my body but elevating my mind with wisdom.  Father God, I love you and I strive to be obedient, and I thank you for sending skilled physicians and caregivers that are my family and friends.  Use me Lord!  My temple is yours to speak to others and to lead them to you.  Thank you for Kendrick Lemar.  Thank you for Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland, Joseph Prince and Joel Osteen.  Thank you for #TheTOURthatAngieBEEpresents and for the clients that wait on Angie BEE Productions to reopen while I heal.  Lord, I thank you for loving me.

In Jesus name…

Amen

BIO on Da Queen Bee

Evangelist Angie BEE

As a media producer and accomplished social media promoter, I have recorded audio books for authors that now bring fulfilling stories to those with an ear to hear.  I report on news stories that may have been overlooked by larger outlets; and through my OWN books, I share my testimonies of mental illness and healing.  I inspire, encourage and share the word of God as a prophetic evangelist and ministry leader, and I work along side my anointed husband to bring workshops and entertainment to ministries, corporations and families.

A humble bumble-bee may be small and sometimes unseen, but I BUZZ with the anointing from above and this Queen BEE is pollinating the world with the love of the Lord every way that He leads me to!

– Evangelist Angie BEE founded “The TOUR that Angie BEE Presents” in July 2011 as a live outreach ministry, inspired by her award-winning Holy Hip Hop radio show entitled “The Hottest Home Hotspot WORLDWIDE”.

– Angie BEE serves small businesses and ministries through Angie BEE Productions offering audio books, commercial and TV show productions, videos and social media promotion.

– Da Queen Bee is the recipient of the 2012 Female Radio Show Host of the Year by the Global One Accord DJ Alliance.
