Let Us Resolve to Go, Speak, Do and be Used in 2019

I was trying to go back to bed this morning, after waking up at 5:00 am. While I was awake, I checked my email (on my phone) and responded to some notifications (on Facebook, on my phone) and I watched the 7:00 am broadcast of a TV show that I shot, edited and produced. My agency was honored to create four programs for a dynamic Prophetess, and they debuted in December on WACX in Orlando Florida. Working on that show was a blessing because it reminded me of the gifts and talents God bestowed upon me, many years ago. Thank you Jesus! I started a load of laundry and put a ham bone in the crock pot, to prepare for soup (Proverbs 31:10 woman) and I sat an read a few pages of the Essence magazine… the one with Former First Lady Michelle Obama on the cover.

By 9:00 am, I had crept back in the bedroom, trying not to disturb my hubby’s blissful snoring. I slid in the bed, tucked the covers over us both and snuggled up to hold him, and go back to sleep. As I was drifting off, I heard a voice in my head say “What about me?” “Yes, Lord! Was my response. I am honored to spend time with you”.

My priorities this morning may have been a bit off, but my resolve to do better is strong and focused. As a result of my willingness to pray and serve Him, I now have this inspirational message to share with each of you.

First: It is time to go. Have you been waiting for the perfect time to move in to a new home, to leave a relationship or go back to school? It is time to go! Not just because it is New Years and folks are making New Years Resolutions, but it is time to go! You have been praying for a breakthrough and waiting for a change, so now be inspired to get up and GO!

Second: Let somebody use you. No, I don’t mean to let someone take advantage of you or abuse you. What I mean is to do something for someone else. Cut the widow’s lawn or take her a plate of food. Shovel the single mother’s snow or meet them at the park for a play-date. Volunteer at your church or the community center and let that toddler paint your fingernails. Let them enjoy your time, for a change.

Third: Speak to someone else. That relative got on your nerves over the holidays. He came to your home with a date, and took home a giant “To-Go” plate. Your aunt gossiped about everyone and complained about the food and your son announced that he was moving back home, with his girlfriend (and they are expecting!). Lord help! You grinned and bore it all, and now it is time to speak to them. Take a deep breath and write a letter. Not an email, use a pen and paper. Write out what you see their problem is, offer a solution based upon your experience and/or training and give them an ultimatum. Let the letter sit for a day or two, re-read it, edit it, re-write it and mail it to them.

Fourth: It is time to do something that scares you. Ask her to marry you. Say “Yes” to him and say “No” to them. Stop avoiding the doctor visit and schedule that surgery. Tell your spouse how you feel and what you want to see change and step out on faith to launch that ministry, that book, that business or even that friendship. There is no reason for your fear and the pressure has been building. My husband always says “Pressure can burst a pipe” and I don’t want you to burst! I was watching an episode of #TalkStoop, and the guest on the show said “Pressure creates Diamonds”. Use that pressure to create something new in your life and don’t delay another moment.

Now, let’s pull all this inspiration into spiritual terms. As an ordained, prophetic evangelist, my foundation scripture is found in Isaiah 6:8 which says “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” I ask the Lord to “send me”. To “speak through me” and to “Use Me”, and, at times, I am scared. I never know where His path will take me or even how I will get there… but my willingness to serve HIM makes my ability stronger than my fears. I serve the Lord with gladness and I use the gifts and talents that He has anointed me with to go where He leads me, to speak to whom He directs me to speak to and to do what He instructs me to do. I go, I speak, I do and I am used, by God.

How can you apply this to your life if you are NOT in ministry, like I am.

Forward this message to someone that needs to learn this message. Use it in your letter that you are writing, or place it on your Vision Board, to inspire your transition. Study 1 Corinthians 12:5-6 which teaches us “5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work”. I am not telling you to attend seminary school and become a missionary, but I am telling you that Our Father has His hand upon every step you take and every move you make. He is the one that is responsible for your waking moments, your peaceful rest and that food upon your plate. If He can take care of the animals in your yard, won’t He take care of you? (“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? – Matthew 6).

Ask Him to lead you and guide you, and don’t move until you hear HIS voice. Strive to study His word and strive to make HIM proud of you. Live for God on the job, in your home, at school and in your community. Take care of your body (His temple) and don’t put ANYTHING or ANYONE ELSE in front of caring for yourself. Be still, and know that HE is your God and keep the faith in knowing that if He brought you out of 2018, then He can do something miraculous for you in 2019. (Isaiah 30:21 English Standard Version (ESV)

21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left).

It is time to resolve!

Amen.
