When Being Obedient Saves Your Life: Spiritual Sundays

Just a couple months ago I met some people that were amazed that I was an author that has written several books. They couldn’t believe it because I am an introvert and don’t talk much when in groups or big crowds. My response to them was being that I am an introvert I still have to be obedient! If God tells us to do something we are to follow his commands!

(There is a difference): Some people want to know how do you know the difference good=God, bad=the enemy (voice-commands) Me finding my voice meant I was going to be able to help others! (That is good!) Me keeping quiet meant that the people that my books are meant for would continue to be lost! (That is bad!)

How many times have we disobeyed our parents? How many times will we disobey God and his instructions for our life? As children if our parents don’t direct us to the bible; then we don’t know what it says correct? But what about when you have parents, grandparents and other adults that tell you what the bible says and we still go astray?

1.God has provided commandments for us to follow. (Bible)

2.God has laid the foundation on how we are to live. (Bible)

3.God has given us the road-map to how we are to proceed. (Bible)

4.God has sent his only begotten son to save us from our sins; does that mean we continue to sin? We aren’t perfect but we have to strive to do better and act accordingly (Bible)

5.When you don’t obey God and your parents; then who do you make happy?

The enemy, you give him power and you give him access to your life through your disobedience! The word tells you that the enemy only comes to steal, kill and destroy! So, now that you know that is his end game why keep giving him access? Why keep playing his game? How can you obey what and who is designed to hurt and harm you but you won’t obey the very one that came to give you life, abundance, favor, a sound mind, deliverance, shelter, living water, etc?  God has placed your earthly parents over you; why can’t you obey them?

Many of us want the blessings and favor but don’t want to be obedient! We will jump up and down when we get cars, clothes and money but how many of you know that the devil rewards too! Could that be why so many don’t see the reason to come into the light? Because they can still get all their worldly wants and continue to live as they have?

  1. Does the enemy give eternal life? John 3:16
  2. Can he turn water into wine? John 2:1-11
  3. Can he refill your jars when you know they were empty? 2 Kings 4:1-7
  4. Can he feed thousands with just 5 loaves and 2 fish? Matt 14:17

I want to share a story with you that goes back a several years. I had been getting sick and I was constantly in and out the hospital; one day I had to be rushed to the hospital from work. Every time I went the doctors would tell me that they ran all the tests we could and we can’t find anything wrong; it’s probably just stress, go home and just rest.

My job told me to take a couple days off and when I went back to work, people were talking about how I didn’t look like myself! I didn’t feel like myself and I was tired of feeling that way! I knew something was wrong so I decided to pray and cry out to God one night. In my crying and praying it was revealed exactly what was wrong and the testing that was required hadn’t been checked because it’s not a routine test that is normally ran.

Now if the people in the hospital would’ve check my medical history they would’ve seen what the issue was and how to fix it. A few years before that my doctor took me off of medicine that she said I only needed while I was pregnant but that turned out to cause more harm than good.

So, I went back that morning after hearing from God and I allowed them to run the tests again told them what tests they had to run and the attending physician came back and said you’re fine we going to discharge you and I looked him in the face and said I’m sorry but I’m not leaving, I’m not fine, and I want to see the tests that you ran.

I was admitted into the hospital sent upstairs where another physician took over my case and ran the required tests and guess what; when he got the results back he came to my room and said “Ms. McCarthy if you would’ve went home you would’ve been dead in a matter of days!”

Do you see why we must obey God! What if I had listened to that doctor and went home? I wouldn’t be here today! Lord I just thank you!!! Let me tell you again the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy! Who will you believe? Who will you trust? Who will you follow? Who will you obey?

disobey– ignore, disregard, violate, infringe (disregard others)

disobedient– rebellious, defiant, unruly, wayward, uncooperative, naughty (not obedient)

One thing that I absolutely love about God; is that he doesn’t force himself on you! He offers you a choice unlike the enemy!

Are you ready to obey God today?

Ephesians 6:1

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right”,

Colossians 3:20

“Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord”,

Proverbs 22:6

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”

You Make Me Feel Loved: Written by Angie Bee…#SpiritualSundays

As we left the grocery story last night and loaded the bags into the trunk of the car, my husband led me to the passenger side of the car and opened the door for me. He waited patiently for me to take my seat in the car, but then I paused and grabbed his face with both hands. to plant a sweet kiss on his lips. When I opened my eyes to look at him, there was a satisfied look of peace upon his face. “Do my kisses make you feel sexy?” I asked him, sincerely. “Sexy? What does feeling sexy have to do with anything?” he replied, “You Make Me Feel Loved”.

WOW! Was that a compliment, an insult or a matter-of-fact statement? I wondered about his words for the rest of the evening, until I fell asleep in his arms. I make my husband feel loved. Hmmmm.

Do you remember the song lyrics that say:

“Jesus Loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so;
Little Ones to him belong, they are weak but He is strong”
(you know the rest of it… I hear you singing along!)

When we were kids, we knew that Jesus loved us, or we at least knew the words to the song. As we continued to grow, we discovered that there were THINGS that we loved, and we received love from those that raised us; albeit we may not have recognized their actions as a show of love. Somewhere along the way, we began to confuse “Love” with “Sexuality”. Young men began to stare and drool and young women began to listen and show-off. Grandmothers told the girls to “put on some clothes” and Fathers began a mission to “try and make a man out of their sons”. Insecurities developed, independence took the place of collaboration and a whole new generation of young people decided that multiple sexual partners was better than a married, loving covenant with God and a maybe even a spouse.

When did sex appeal take the place of comfort, care and a commitment of love? If you never read 1 Corinthians 7:2 it reads:

But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
https://biblia.com/bible/esv/1%20Cor%207.2

There are multiple teachings that tell us about sexual urges, but what about the loving urges? What about those times when a man just wants to be kissed by his wife and a woman just wants to be held by her husband?

My husband and I just wrote our first book together, and it was published by Ladero Press. It is now on sale at www.LaderoPress.com in soft cover, eBook and in the audio book version that Bartee and I narrated together. That project was a true act of love in that, we didn’t have a NEED to share our true love story with the world; who would care? Why bother? We plan to dedicate the money we make from book sales to ministry, so we didn’t write the book to get rich. Why dedicate hours to writing, narrating, editing, changing and evolving our two stories into one project? Love made us do it.

Not just considering the love that we have for each other, but we wrote the book to help teach our children and others that the love that God has for us to share, is more powerful than any orgasm. Receiving love from God is more consistent than any weekly paycheck and more satisfying that a bowl of your favorite ice cream. When God sends you someone to love, not only do you receive the love of the Lord through that person, but you can GIVE all that you have inside you to the LORD, through your spouse. When I hold my husband at night, God is holding the two of us. When I kiss his face or wrap my arms around him, I am showing God how much I love HIM, by loving HIS son. My grown daughters may tolerate my excessive kisses and hugs and texts and phone calls but that is the way God made me; I am a loving creature that was made in HIS image, so I share the love that I receive from above!

Wake up in the morning and begin to pray, before you even open your eyes! That shows love to God, and it even shows love to yourself by submitting your day to the one that blessed you with this day.
Love on yourself by stretching and massaging your body. Lay hands on those aches and pains that you wake up with until you realize you are waking up pain free, and give Glory to God for that!
Give God thanks for the limbs that you have and for the healing that is taking place in your body. Rejoice in your OWN body and show yourself some love!
Greet your spouse with a loving gesture. For some of you, that means a “roll-over-and-pounce” but what about a loving back run? How about a hand-hold or a simple hug? Think about a loving gesture that will put smile on both of your faces, before you face the world together. Greet your children with a joyful smile to help them begin THEIR day and be the light in the day that your co-workers look forward to seeing.

Plan out your day to include personal care, nourishment, prayer, community care and allow the Lord to work through you to enlarge your territory and to show love to another.
End your day, not crawling in to bed exhausted but joyful and at peace because GOD LOVES YOU and YOU LOVE YOURSELF!!!

It’s time for you to give love and receive love too. Be still and know that HE is GOD and love the Lord with all your heart. He will give you the desires of your heart if you allow him to. Learn to appreciate yourself and love yourself. Be thankful that the Lord has allowed you to live through your trials, and not around them. You Make Me Feel Loved God, and I thank you for that.

Coaching For Success – Tarsha L. Campbell
Winner’s Circle

Do you know it’s God’s good pleasure that you win and rise to the top? Joshua 1:8 says, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

God is of no respect of person and desires for all who employs his divine principles will reap bountiful blessings. I use the word ‘employ’ because this emphasizes the fact that we have to put the principle to work. What we need to understand about a principle is that it remains constant and works when we work it. If we don’t work it, it won’t work, it’s just that simple. I really feel a lot of Christians don’t see the level of success they desire because they are only hearers of the word and not doers.

Also when we do decide to employ the principles of God in our life we don’t do it consistently until we see the desired the results. Many expect a harvest the next day. However, just like it is in the natural if you put a seed in the ground one day you won’t get a harvest the next day. It works the same way when we plant the seeds of spiritual principles in our lives. The harvest will come, but we have to be patient for the complete manifestation of what was planted. The key is being consistent.

Here is a short list of divine principles that will place you in the winner’s circle if you put them to work in your life…and be consistent:

The prayer of faith (Mark 9:23)
Positive confession (Mark 11:23)
Positive thinking (Proverb 23:7)
Giving (Luke 6:38)

I encourage you to read the corresponding scripture for each principle, put the principle to work in your life and then watch God bring the harvest.

Your Next Step Coaching Minute:

How consistent have you been in employing divine principles in your life? Search the scriptures and apply other divine principles for success in your life and set a goal to be consistent for 21 days.
