Vision Board Party Reflections: Does Your Vision Match Your Character, Image and Outlook?

Then the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry”. Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NKJV)

How many of us give up before we allow our prays to be answered?

You’ve been praying for years to get married! You post sticky notes all over the house, reminding yourself of what he will look like and act like and then 1 year goes by and you give up!

You have settled for a guy that doesn’t line up with anything you’ve been praying for and guess what he doesn’t even want to marry you!

He just wants to kick it, hang out; Netflix and chill!!! Why? All because you can’t wait….
How many of you can relate to that scenario? How many of you will do the same thing and not allow your prayers to manifest?

Vision has many different meanings and depending on how you look at it; you will get a different outcome. Agreed?

You can look at something or someone with your natural eye and you can also look with your spiritual eye! Are you following along? Your natural eye will show you everything you need to see instantly, right? But, your spiritual eye is going to show you and spark a completely different visual of the same object or individual but in a whole different light! Does that make sense?

Let me explain it this way. You are looking to advance your career and you have sent out lots of resumes and are starting to get interviews lined up with some pretty good companies! Some are okay but others are great and you could really do well if chosen by the right company!

You begin to see yourself in each of these positions, the day to day begins to play out in your head and how your interactions will be. Some of the jobs may present a promotion and some may not! You can see this by researching the companies and reviewing their history. You are visualizing what you perceive your future will be and what company could be the right fit for you!

Many of us take it a step further and will look for and find many ways to visualize what we want our life to look like!

We will put together a personal vision statement! We may even come up with a personal mission statement!

Whatever we have to do that will keep us on track to bringing our thoughts and vision to life!

What better way to visualize your vision; than a vision board? Have you completed a vision board before? Why are vision boards important?

It’s simple! A vision board is a constant visible and visual reminder of the goals, hopes and dreams that You want for your life!

Many of us need a constant reminder of what we are working towards because of all the distractions in the world and our lives.

Many of us are moms, wives, business owners and with so much going on; stuff can get placed on the back burner of our minds!

But not only is a vision board good but so is the party! Now who doesn’t like to party? Who doesn’t like arts and crafts?

Who doesn’t like fellowship and meeting up with like-minded individuals? Women especially this is good to further advance friendship and sisterhood!

You don’t have to know each person in the room but before the end of the night you should!

For some odd reason women find it hard to interact with other women! They find it hard to compliment and appreciate another woman!

Some women are always looking for reasons why they don’t like another woman. You may be reading this and asking yourself “How did she go from talking about vision, vision boards, vision board parties and get to women not liking each other”?

Well let me tell you! My vision, my purpose and my passion; is to help create and foster better relationships with women for themselves as well as with other women!

We weren’t created or called to hate or look down on each other! That is a learned behavior! A learned behavior that has to be dismantled piece by piece!

So in creating a vision board you want to create a complete visual! Not only materialistic things!

But your personal aspirations as well! If you look again at the picture of my vision board created yesterday at a Vision Board Party that I attended.

You will see the various colorful outfits that Oprah is pictured in. I loved this image first because of all the colors and also what jumped out at me was Oprah was consistent!

She is smiling, happy and full of life in each pose! The only thing that changed was the color of the dress!

We as women lack consistency! We lack standards! We lack respect! We lack love! We lack discipline! We lack so much and are so stuck that it keeps us from advancing! We need to become whole! We need to create unity and have better relationships with one another!

Stop looking at other woman as trying to steal what you have or what you are trying to get! Your attitude, the way you operate and carry yourself throws it away!

I will not apologize for being passionate about something that is dear to me! The very thing I am writing about; I have had to experience! The hate from other women who don’t even know me! Don’t want to get to know me! But want to judge me!

We have to do better! You represent you! How do you want people to see you? What do you stand for? Who do you represent? You have to be consistent! You come out the door dressed from head to toe! Rocking the best money can buy; but how you carry yourself and how you interact and respond to others; doesn’t add up!

Vision is important! How do you want to be visualized?

Love Who You Are: #SpiritualSundays

Do you love yourself? Do you love how you look? Do you love how you talk? Do you love where you are in life?

Self-love is so very important! If you don’t love you; then how can you love others?

You can lust after them? You can stalk them?

But you can’t love them; if you don’t love yourself!

Self-love starts within and then grows outward.

1 Corinthians 13:3-10 (The Message Bible) says this:  “If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.

Love cares more for others than for self.

Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.

Love doesn’t strut,

Doesn’t have a swelled head,

Doesn’t force itself on others,

Isn’t always “me first,”

Doesn’t fly off the handle,

Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,

Doesn’t revel when others grovel,

Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,

Puts up with anything,

Trusts God always,

Always looks for the best,

Never looks back,

But keeps going to the end.

Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled”.

So I will say it again!! Self-Love begins on the inside and grows outward! When you truly love yourself; you respect yourself and others!

When you love yourself; you won’t allow anyone to treat you or handle you any kind of way!

When you love yourself; you respect yourself, you create standards for yourself, you take care of yourself, you show others how to treat you and you won’t allow nonsense, negativity, drama and strife a front row seat in your life!

Ladies, do you love yourself?

Fellas, do you love yourself?

Many of us don’t act like it! Running all over town sleeping with whomever they choose! Allowing the enemy to infiltrate their minds and their bodies; giving him a front row seat to watch you crash and burn!

Love calls you out and shows you that they care! That they see you as being better, having better and creating a better life! Love doesn’t pat you on the back when it sees you headed for disaster and tell you to keep going! It stops you in your tracks and speaks loving, caring, kind, inspirational and motivational thoughts to you; that would open your eyes!

Loving yourself sometimes requires you to be all you can be and do all you can do; for yourself!

Loving yourself sometimes requires you to be all you can be and do all you can do; for others!

We can’t love ourselves and then hate others, dislike others, cause harm to others and wish the despair of others. It just doesn’t work that way!

Loving who you are means this to me:

Loving myself and all my flaws!

Loving myself and my trials and tribulations!

Loving myself and not feeling defeated!

Loving myself and not accepting abuse from others!

Loving myself and not changing how God created me to please others!

Loving myself inside and out!

I can continue to tell you how I have come to love myself and all that comes with it.

But let me tell you this I haven’t always been there! I was severely scared; emotionally, mentally and physically and it took me years to get to this place! I’m happy I’m finally here and I want you to join me!! Loving who you are is the best thing that you can do for yourself!!

Start to embrace that feeling and list all the reasons why you love yourself and speak love over yourself every single day!!

If you can relate to this article, if you love what you just read; comment and let me know your thoughts!

If you are in the Central Florida area or will be in the area on 2/18/17 between the times of 9am-4pm; come out and hear me and 2 other phenomenonal women speak at the Love Who You Are Women’s Conference at the Hampton Inn in Clermont Florida. Tickets are only $25 and available on eventbrite!!

Taking Care of Ourselves: by Eniola Olaosebikan for #spiritualsundays

      Taking Care of Ourselves

There is a popular advert for a quite popular antiseptic soap which says –“If I don’t take care of you, who will?” Have you ever thought about that sentence? As regarding yourself?

As single moms, aside going to work, grocery shops and some day to day activities, all we want to do is take care of our kids and give them all the best as any great parent would do, which in itself is not a bad goal. But the quite sad thing is that sometimes we forget ourselves in the process. We give up on our dreams without knowing, allowing pressures from all over to take over. We forget ourselves and our needs unconsciously, especially if they are younger kids.

Taking care of ourselves might have been quite lovely if it all it entails is taking care of our bodies and physical appearance, but sadly (or maybe happily), it does entail more than that. Taking care of our bodies is the first step of all the steps to taking care of our whole selves.

There are three areas I would suggest we take care of ourselves based on our creation as tripartite beings.

Body:

We all know we should take care of our bodies. We are mostly addressed the way we are perceived even without saying a word. Our appearance is our first business card, being the very first point of contact. We want to look great and have a lasting impression, not only as a business person but as an individual. So we never can rule out taking care of our bodies. It is vital.

Soul:

Hmmmh, here comes the next one (in no particular order).

Many people confuse the soul with the spirit. They are two separate entities living in one body. The soul is the seat of our reasoning. It actively controls the distribution and interpretation of knowledge. When we read good books, watch great videos, attend great seminars, the soul benefits. The level at which we feed/ take care of our souls is the level at which it will give back to us. Essentially, it’s – Garbage in garbage out. It’s just like putting money in a personal safe at home- when you have it, you have it, and when you don’t- you don’t. A well fed soul will prosper. Little wonder Paul prayed and wished in the book of 3 John 1:2 that- “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” A healthy soul prospers, but it doesn’t just come. It comes with great efforts applied.

It is very essential to cloth our soul which houses our mind, with great things. Things that will benefit it and in turn benefit us too; even the world at large. Do not neglect yourself for any reason. Polish your mind as well as your body so when you speak and relate, you do so with a lot of dignity and wisdom.

Last but not the least-

Spirit

This is very vital and cannot be over emphasized. I wrote a poem some days ago and it has this to say about the spirit:

Feed your soul

It is the seat of reasoning

Feed your spirit

It is the seat of power-

The headquarters.

Feed your body

It is the seat of strength, vitality

And the vehicle of both the soul

And the spirit.

Three in one.

Total health

The spirit is vital, it is the breath, life and inspiration in us. As said in the poem, it is the ‘headquarters’ of who we are. One of the ways we can take great care of our spirit is by praying. Daily prayer helps sharpen our spirit man to receive from God and also to keep close and firm touch with Him, especially when we speak in tongues. According to Romans 8: 26-27, praying in tongues enables us to pray the exact mind of God. There are no mistakes in the words uttered when we pray in tongues even though we most times do not understand the utterances. It is our spirit in direct contact with God’s Spirit.

Reading the Bible is also one of the ways to take care of our spirit. Reading God’s Word is Him speaking expressly to us: He authored the writing of the Book.

We can also listen to great messages, read great books and worship.

Summarily, with regards to the spirit, Ephesians 6:10-18 encourages us to guard ourselves with truth, hold up the shield of faith so we can block out every fear, doubt that the enemy may throw at us, and also take up our sword of the spirit which is the Word of God, amidst other admonitions. Taking adequate care of our spirit will keep us well grounded in life, and in everything we do.

I would like to leave us with this thought: imagine a naked body walking all around who hasn’t taken her bath for years, haven’t brushed for years, no shaving, no cloth, no lotion, no ointment; basically nothing. Imagine the kind of odor and stench that would ooze out from such person? She would most likely amass a lot of pity and maybe fear in people as to the state of her mind. We don’t want to be like that woman with regards to our soul and spirit. We want to strive to keep learning and grooming ourselves to be the very best by investing daily in our soul, and spirit, just like we take our baths regularly and take great care of our bodies. We want to be intentional.

We may take great care of our sons and daughters, spouses, siblings….but’s let’s always remember- “if you don’t take care of you, who will?” The answer is nobody. Nobody knows you like you, and as a result, nobody can take great care of you like you.

Much love.

The Year Is 2017! What Will You Do?

So we are 1 week into the new year; and I don’t know about you; but the way my life is set up, it is off to a great start! You have to come off the start line like you know it’s going to be poppin! Come out the gate; like what up? I’m here and ready to take on the day; everyday!

So with that out the way; what are you doing in 2017? Have you started your New Years resolutions? Have you hit the gym? Have you changed up your eating habits and been eating healthier? This is what people talk about every single year! It doesn’t even last that long; some don’t continue past the first week. And the gym faze; may go on for maybe a month; maybe!

Aren’t you ready to do something different; that will last longer than a week or a month? What if you could rethink your resolutions and put a new list together? What are your goals and aspirations for 2017? What are you going to do differently; than you did in the previous years; that will advance you and not continue to keep you idle and/or stagnant? This year should be different; and therefore calls for different outcomes; but to achieve a different outcome, the outlook has to be different as well.

Allow me to make some suggestions:

  • 2017 is your year to stop hiding behind that mask; unveil your true self take the mask off!
  • 2017 is your year to stop checking for folks; that aren’t checking for you; stop looking foolish!
  • 2017 is the year for you to do a new thing; old stuff has no place in the new year!
  • 2017 is the year that you decide to change!
  • 2017 is the year that you decide; to start walking in your purpose!
  • 2017 is the year for you; to get out of your own way!
  • 2017 is the year for you; to stop being co-dependent; on other people to live your life!
  • 2017 is the year for you; to be servant lead and stop being so selfish; and self centered!
  • 2017 is the year for you; to be strong and take a stand for you! You are and will be your biggest cheerleader! Nobody else has to cheer you on!
  • 2017 is the year you begin to have fun! Stop being so super serious!
  • 2017 is the year that you silence your haters! Stop giving them front your seats into your life!

New beginnings call for drastic changes! You dont want to be the same ole person you were in 2016! You want to be renewed, refreshed, revamped and rejuvanted! So that calls for you doing some self-evaluations! Its time to check yourself; boo! You dont want others judging you; then you do it!

It’s time to get out the boat; and walk on water! You don’t have to be afraid and you don’t have to wait on a cheering squad! Just do it!

So many people are getting left behind; because they are waiting for a cheering squad that may never show up! You are built and equipped for this! Stepping out of the boat for Peter didn’t require him to have a cheering squad; it was just him and Jesus! That’s all you need; are your eyes on him? (Read Matthew 14:22-33)

Pray this prayer:
Lord, as I take the first step; toward getting out of the boat. I pray, that you bid me to come; show me the way the right way to go. Don’t allow me to stray to the left or to the right! Keep my path straight; in the direction leading right to you! In your son; Jesus mighty name, I pray! Amen.

What Are You Worth?

What are you worth? Have you ever thought about this?

Do you value yourself? Your time? Your potential?

Do you just give away your worth?

People will try their best to give or offer you what they think you are worth. This goes for business and personal; especially when they don’t know you or your potential.

Many times in the business world (employers/employment agencies) will offer you the minimum pay and want top notch results! In personal relationships people will give you 20% of their time and attention but wants you to give them 150 % and that makes no sense!

Do you cherish what you can be?

Many of us aren’t where we want to be! But does that mean we are to give up and throw in the towel? No we keep pushing, keep planning and it will happen when it’s supposed to. Right? That’s what I’m always hearing and while I believe it; what about the ones that don’t? What do you say to a 40+ person that has been prepping and waiting and it hasn’t happened yet? How many women and men are still single; looking and waiting for the right one? How many college grads are still looking and waiting for the dream job that they actually got a degree in? How many single moms are still waiting for their child’s father to want an active role in their kids life? How many employees are still waiting to be acknowledged for their hard work and be promoted?

The list can go on for days but the real question; that needs to be answered is; when are you going to break free; from the people, places and things that are trying to hold you back?

Can you answer these questions

1. What is my worth?

2. Do I value myself?

3. What can I change?

4. What can’t I change?

5. What can I do better?

6. When will I realize that I deserve the best?

7. When will I stop taking myself for granted?

The most important thing you need to remember is that you; can’t change anyone else! But you can change; how you allow it to affect and define you! You are the most important factor; no matter the situation.

Winner’s Circle by Tarsha L. Campbell

                 Winner’s Circle

Do you know it’s God’s good pleasure that you win and rise to the top? Joshua 1:8 says, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

God is of no respect of person and desires for all who employs his divine principles will reap bountiful blessings. I use the word ‘employ’ because this emphasizes the fact that we have to put the principle to work. What we need to understand about a principle is that it remains constant and works when we work it. If we don’t work it, it won’t work, it’s just that simple. I really feel a lot of Christians don’t see the level of success they desire because they are only hearers of the word and not doers. Also when we do decide to employ the principles of God in our life we don’t do it consistently until we see the desired the results. Many expect a harvest the next day. However, just like it is in the natural if you put a seed in the ground one day you won’t get a harvest the next day. It works the same way when we plant the seeds of spiritual principles in our lives. The harvest will come, but we have to be patient for the complete manifestation of what was planted. The key is being consistent.

Here is a short list of divine principles that will place you in the winner’s circle if you put them to work in your life…and be consistent:

The prayer of faith (Mark 9:23)

• Positive confession (Mark 11:23)

• Positive thinking (Proverb 23:7)

• Giving (Luke 6:38)

I encourage you to read the corresponding scripture for each principle, put the principle to work in your life and then watch God bring the harvest.
